As I sit here at LinkeIn attending the Silicon Valley Video Works Workshop, I can't help but reflect on the experience of having worked with a true visionary, the Founder of Tandem Computers, Jimmy Treybig.
Jimmy was a true believer that video communications were critical to a company's success and would eventually become the foundational infrastructure for every tech company. That was 1988 and I was fortunate enough to be there helping to build that very unique employee experience, with C-band and KU-band satellites.
Today, can anyone today imagine not having Zoom, or Teams, or Meet, or something similar as part of a tech company's workflow?
Like I said, Jimmy Treybig was a true visionary. He was the first to inspire his video team to push the envelope of technology and develop video to the desktop. That was always his ultimate goal.
Now... It's not only on our desktops it's on our phones. What an opportunity to have experienced and been a part of such monumental advances in video communications technology and distributed production workflows.
