About us

The Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC) is is a business unit of MxV Rail, a subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads. SERTC provides specialized hazardous materials emergency response to surface transportation incident training in a hybrid format, utilizing classroom sessions, web-based platforms, and full-size incident reenactments for hands-on experience. Industry-leading SERTC experts have provided over 73,000 first responders with knowledge and experience that has improve the safety and effectiveness of those responders in the field. As a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Training and Education Division (NTED), SERTC is able to provide specialized hazmat training to qualifying State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial responders at no cost. SERTC training is also available in open enrollment format for industrial, commercial, and foreign clients.
