Our students were invited to perform at Rock in Rio Lisboa, one of the world's biggest music festivals! This year, the festival celebrated 20 years of Rock in Rio Lisboa in a special edition at Parque Tejo in Lisbon, where our students not only watched performances by renowned artists like Scorpions, Extreme, and Living Colour but also took the stage in an experience of a lifetime. The excitement didn't stop in Lisbon. Over 300 School of Rock students from 7 different countries embarked on a European tour, performing at venues like Shoko Madrid. The energy was electric, and hearing the crowd chant "Colombia" was a moment of pure connection and adrenaline for our Latin American students. This tour offered more than just performance opportunities. It provided a platform for our students to explore new cultures, connect with fellow School of Rock students from around the globe, and experience profound personal and artistic growth. School of Rock Mandarin is up and running! 🎶 Thanks to franchise owners Ryan and Jessica Campbell, this incredible school has hit the ground running! Within just 2 months, the energy at their 3,000 square-foot space in the Jacksonville area is electric with nonstop tours, lessons, and programs. Ryan says, ""I wanted to run a music program that develops a lifelong love of music and truly offers students a pathway to a career in music if they so choose. But beyond that, I really connected with the mission and vision of the School of Rock because it provides students a place to belong, where they can embrace what makes them unique, and learn important life skills like confidence and teamwork while rocking out with their peers on real stages in real rock shows.” The Campbells have truly outdone themselves with a beautiful new space that's buzzing with excitement. We're back from Summerfest with memories that will last a lifetime! Last week, we kicked off the start of Summerfest weekend by taking over the notorious The Rave / Eagles Club in Milwaukee. Over 600 School of Rock students from the United States, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Brazil, and Mexico performed where hundreds of big-name artists left their mark before them. The energy was electric, with students from over 50 School of Rock locations getting the opportunity to connect and enjoy music together. After an incredible day of performances at The Rave, the students geared up for two days of performances at Summerfest music festival. School of Rock took over six of the festival stages, each with its own unique energy. At the BMO Capital Markets stage, a bassist from School of Rock Frisco was invited to join Drowning Pool for an unforgettable performance of “Bodies”. Students from School of Rock Mount Pleasant experienced a rockstar moment with Ryan Stasik, the bassist from Umphrey’s McGee, while School of Rock Chicago students were given the chance to meet soul and R&B artist Allen Stone. Andersonville School of Rock students hung out with Brittany Howard, the lead singer of Alabama Shakes, while other students performed with Adrian Quesada, guitarist and producer of Black Pumas. To end a magical festival weekend, School of Rock Frisco student and AllStar, Jazmine, emerged victorious in our annual Shred Contest. She battled through five intense rounds against top talent from around the world, making history as the first keyboardist to win the contest. This is an experience they—and we—will never forget! The Governor's Ball is not just any music festival; it's a cultural phenomenon that brings together music lovers from all over the globe. Featuring headliners like Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, The Killers, Geese, and Dominic Fike, it's a melting pot of genres, creativity, and unforgettable performances. For our students, playing at The Governor's Ball was more than just a gig. It was a chance to perform in front of a huge crowd, share the same stage as their musical idols, experience the electric atmosphere of a top-tier festival, and gain invaluable stage experience that will inspire them for years to come.
