Battalion Chief Arthur Tomasetti recently attended the fire academy graduation of a long-time mentee, Jacob Young. Chief Tomasetti met Jacob when he was in kindergarten, and even at such a young age, he knew he wanted to become a firefighter. After completing the Monterey Peninsula College Firefighter Academy, he’s one step closer to that goal! Each month, the County of Santa Clara recognizes a select few agency employees to receive Employee Excellence Awards, with two County Fire employees recognized each year. Firefighter/Engineer-Paramedic Erin Buchanan was nominated by several peers and was selected to be recognized as a Santa Clara County Employee Excellence Award recipient for the month of May.
