The Brandt Behavioral Health Center and Retreat will be opening on New Brunswick’s Cook campus. The first of its kind in New Jersey, backed by an academic health leader—the treatment center will provide accommodations and clinical treatment, as well as a comprehensive array of coordinated outpatient services for young people and their families. Rutgers alumna, Marlene Brandt, was inspired by her growing familiarity with the mental health crisis among America’s youth, and saw the need for accessible mental health treatment. The Brandt Center strives to address these needs, and will serve upwards of 1,200 patients annually. Learn more about this innovative center: https://lnkd.in/exznMdag

Meet Amy Kazary, manager of Health Information Management at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Having first started at UBHC right out of high school, Amy has been a dedicated and instrumental asset to the unit for more than 30 years. While reflecting on her career at the university, she said, “Working at Rutgers gave me a direction, it gave me a reason to pursue my education in the work I was doing here. I have always had a lot of wonderful mentors during my time at Rutgers UBHC who have guided me and helped me to grow in ways I never expected and I’m truly grateful that our paths crossed.” “My favorite thing about working at Rutgers/UBHC is the support I receive, the opportunity to learn new things, and sharing a history with the people I have worked with here for 33 years,” she added. As the RBHS 10 Year Anniversary draws to a close, we continue to recognize and celebrate the members of our community who make our important work possible. Thank you, Amy, and thank you to all of our RBHS and Rutgers Health staff, faculty, and students. #OneRBHS
