RS Integrated Supply recently held our annual awards to recognize individual and team efforts from across the globe. While the event was held virtually, award recipients will receive their recognition in the coming weeks as they meet with senior executives. We will recognize those individuals as they are presented with their awards. First up is Louise Brisley, Client Operational Lead based in Warrington, UK. Louise was honored as the company’s 2024 Safety Champion. It is the second consecutive year she has received the award. With one of the largest teams in the company, Louise prioritizes #safety, and it shows in the team’s completion rate for safety training. She plans to pursue additional personal training and qualification in the coming months. She was presented her award by Brandon Coombs (left), Senior Vice President Operational Excellence, and Patrick Sabine, Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Congratulations, Louise! #WeAreRS #MRO #SupplyChainManagement

There are many factors that contribute to the compression of profit margins in the food & beverage industry. Political crises, conflicts, pandemics, natural disasters are just a few. Much of it out of anyone’s control. What is under control is how companies react to such crises. One of UK’s largest food & beverage manufacturers took the opportunity to bolster efficiency and curtail operational costs by engaging with RS Integrated Supply. The first goal was tackling the manufacturer’s #MRO storeroom management system. In just a few months, the decision paid dividends. Be prepared: It’s a tenet in life that will serve you well. The #MRO supply chain included. “The more you plan, the more you can anticipate performance and the more you can drive part availability,” says Brandon Coombs, Senior Vice President for #OperationalExcellence. A properly managed maintenance program allows for better agility when reactive maintenance is required. Yet, experience shows that many manufacturers remain deeply entrenched in reactive #maintenance. But it is possible to make the transition. Here, we share a few steps to consider. #WeAreRS #supplychainmanagement RS Group plc https://weare.rs/3Sbhvyv

At RS Integrated Supply, we talk a lot about supplier diversity in the #MRO supply chain. It’s a core pillar of any fully integrated supply program and goes hand-in-hand with our approach to strategic sourcing. Simply, a diverse supplier base enhances supply chain resilience and helps ensure continuity when the inevitable disruption occurs. But supplier diversity goes well beyond that. It demonstrates commitment to responsible and ethical procurement as well as to fairness and social responsibility. It also helps strengthen community relations. It also adds value to your MRO supply chain. #WeAreRS #supplychainmanagement #supplierdiversity RS Group plc MSDUK https://weare.rs/3VW3nv4

50 years ago, today, the first barcode was scanned at a supermarket in Troy, Michigan, under the UPC (Universal Price Code). The product? A 10-pack of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit gum. Norman Woodland and Bernard Silver invented the barcode in 1949, but it wasn’t until 1973 that the #UPC was adopted, paving the way for broad use. It was George Lauer who created the scanning system to take advantage of the barcode design. The advancement has made shipping and tracking materials significantly easier and more accurate and improved overall supply chain management. Some estimate that the technology helped reduce retail and food operational costs by as much as 10% when fully adopted. Today, the technology is widely used, including in the #MRO supply chain, and has led to advancements like self-checkout systems and QR codes. An estimated 6 billion barcodes are scanned globally every day. #NationalBarcodeDay #WeAreRS #supplychainmanagement
