What are some of the top operations issues with propane vehicles? How do maintenance requirements for propane vehicles differ from diesel or gasoline vehicles? Propane has been fueling vehicles for more than 100 years. It’s a readily available, safe and economical fuel with simple maintenance requirements. For example, the engines require less oil by volume than diesel and no additional diesel emission fluids. There are no after-treatment items to service, such as maintenance parts and fluids, because propane’s chemical properties allow it to power an engine while reducing the emissions released into the atmosphere. Technicians can be trained to service propane vehicles through online courses or in-person workshops. #Propane

An Indiana school district chooses propane buses. From WLKY News: "Adding propane buses will help the district better protect students from harmful emissions and the health ailments they may trigger or aggravate. 'Kids are more susceptible to a lot of these than adults and the three main things were lung cancer, asthma, and allergies, and so we’re hoping to kind of do our part,' said Daniel Borders, transportation director for Greater Clark Count Schools in Indiana. That the district is pushing for changes to protect student (and community) health is good news to Clark County Health Officer, Dr. Eric Yazel." https://bit.ly/4eerOv3 Blue Bird Corporation Greater Clark County Schools
