Taking Safety to the Next Level As part of Blue Bird's Next Level Safety announcement, a school bus crash test was performed at IMMI's premiere testing facility, CAPE, in Westfield, Indiana. The simulated crash test demonstrates the added safety Blue Bird buses provide passengers in the event of an accident when equipped with three-point seat belts and driver air bags, compared to the dangers passengers face without the added safety features. Highlights from a #24AMC in Music City, Tennessee We joined school bus contractors from across the country for the 2024 National School Transportation Association Annual Meeting and Convention last week. The Blue Bird Team spoke with attendees one-on-one about their needs and questions, presented company updates and alternative-fuel bus options panels, and sponsored the Welcome Reception and Dinner at the Johnny Cash Museum. Meet our new Intern! Jin Choi is a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Blue Bird. He is from Flowery Branch, Georgia and is a Senior at Mercer University studying Mechanical Engineering. In his free time he enjoys repairing automotives and 3D modeling and printing. Jin is excited to learn about the manufacturing process and what methods are applied to improve production efficiency. Highlights from the #STNExpo Green Bus Summit #RideandDrive! Attendees had the opportunity to Ride and Drive electric and propane #BlueBird school buses Sunday night at the Green Bus Summit. We even popped the hood on the propane bus to give attendees an inside look at the technology behind the low-emission bus. Meet our new Intern! Christofer Clisham is a Chassis Design Engineer Intern at Blue Bird. He is from Saline, Michigan and is going to Graduate School for Mechanical Engineering. In his free time he enjoys running, playing volleyball, and traveling. Christofer is excited to learn what it’s like working in a production facility with experienced engineers.
