A community-based non-profit organization serving more than 40,000 people a year in Massachusetts, Riverside Community Care offers a wide range of mental healthcare, developmental and brain injury services, early childhood and youth programs, addiction treatment, trauma response, and more. And our digital learning platforms extend our reach to more than one million people around the globe, providing tools for education, prevention, and crisis management. We are dedicated to: Children, youth, and families needing mental healthcare, early intervention services, family support, and care coordination services. Individuals with mental health needs seeking counseling and/or medication, emergency psychiatric services, employment, and housing support. Those with developmental disabilities, brain injury, or autism, needing residential services, employment assistance, or support services. Families and children who have experienced domestic violence. As a former carpenter, Dan Foley understands the importance of using the right tools- no matter the task. After struggling with anxiety, depression, and substance use for years, he began to make progress by reframing how he thought about recovery. Attending therapy sessions and recovery meetings wasn’t enough to change how he was feeling – he felt he had to spend time actively seeking tools that he could use to address his deeper issues. Last Friday, we celebrated the graduation of the second cohort from Riverside’s Emerging Leaders Program. Riverside created the Emerging Leaders Program to help train and grow our next generation of leaders. Congratulations to our four Riverside School graduates! Riverside School in Needham and Milford are small schools (8 students each) for youth ages 13 – 18 with mental health challenges. The uplifting graduation ceremonies were attended by staff, families, and fellow students. As for the graduates … one is taking a gap year and plans to engage in volunteer work before settling on a college. Another student plans to attend MassBay in the Spring. One is entering the workforce while exploring options for college. And the final grad has joined the family business while also exploring options for college. We are so proud of all of you!
