Our vision is to build reliable & innovative infrastructure to support & empower future generations
About us
Founded as the Riggs-Linthicum Company in 1909, our original charge mission was to represent manufacturers in the sale of materials for “buildings, railroads, and other purposes.” Over the years, Riggs Distler helped construct some of the most notable buildings in the United States, including the Empire State Building, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal Reserve Building, the Library of Congress, the Internal Revenue Service headquarters, The Breakers Hotel, the National Constitution Center, and hundreds of power plants, government facilities, refineries, and industrial facilities throughout the eastern United States. In 2021, we joined Centuri Group, Inc., a comprehensive utility infrastructure enterprise serving gas and electric providers across North America. Our 100 years of experience stand behind Centuri’s 100-year plan and vision for long-term sustainability. Riggs Distler & Company, Inc. (A Centuri Company), remains a Maryland-incorporated company with headquarters in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and numerous branch offices up and down the Eastern United States. We’re proud of our tradition of success over more than 110 consecutive years of service, and we aim to build our future by focusing on the values that got us here: reliability, safety, and a commitment to hiring and supporting the industry’s best staff. As we embark on our next century of service, we thank the clients we’ve been able to serve on so many successful projects. We look forward to helping you build for the future.

Riggs Distler, a Centuri Group, Inc. Company, is thrilled to announce our partnership with Vineyard Offshore for the Vineyard Wind 2 project. This 1,200 MW offshore wind initiative promises $80 million in direct economic expenditures in Rhode Island and up to $26.5 million for local workforce development, technology innovation, and support for the community. As part of this groundbreaking project, we will be localizing the fabrication and assembly of secondary steel components at the Port of Providence. This will create around 150 onsite jobs, contributing to 300 job-years of employment, all while using union labor and regional subcontractors. Our Rhode Island operation is pivotal in the offshore wind industry, and we’re eager to continue our successful work at Waterson Terminal Services, LLC. We received some fantastic feedback from a resident in PA about one of our Underground Gas crews installing new gas mains on her street. She said "In the excessive temperatures which they worked, it was clearly obvious that they had respect for one another and worked most importantly, as a team. From the engineers, to the equipment operators, to the traffic controllers, it all went along so swimmingly. They were prompt, they were knowledgeable, and many of my neighbors on the street sat on their porches and watched them work this marvel. It is my opinion that your crew deserves supreme recognition. What a remarkable group." We couldn't agree more. Kudos to Jim, Karl, Dave, Zach, and Matt for their outstanding effort and teamwork!

We are proud to share Oceantic Network's spotlight on Rhode Island’s ProvPort (Waterson Terminal Services, LLC), a dynamic hub of offshore wind activity. At Riggs Distler, we are honored to be a part of this groundbreaking initiative, operating the nation’s first advanced foundation component assembly facility in partnership with Ørsted. This collaboration, along with the efforts of many local union workers, underscores our commitment to supporting the future of renewable energy and contributing to projects like South Fork Wind and Revolution Wind. Together, we are driving progress and innovation in the offshore wind industry.
Rhode Island’s Port of Providence (Waterson Terminal Services, LLC) is a buzzing hive of offshore wind activity. It’s home to the nation’s first advanced foundation component assembly facility – operated by Riggs Distler and developer Ørsted – as well the first U.S. offshore wind submarine cable terminal via subsea cable firm WIND. It hosts component warehousing, operations & maintenance activities, vessel services, and has supported critical steps in constructing both South Fork Wind and now, Revolution Wind. But above all, it’s where hundreds of individuals – many of whom are local to the area – come to work daily. ProvPort is just one of the 25 U.S. ports Oceantic Network has identified as currently involved in offshore wind, or undergoing development to support the industry, with even more in the pipeline. In this edition of the Offshore Wind at Work Newsletter, we take a boots-on-the-ground look at ProvPort and Portsmouth Marine Terminal (which is supporting Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind) to better understand how they’ve positioned themselves for success in this growing industry. #OSWatWork #OffshoreJobs #OffshoreWind

Our team's dedication ensures the safe, responsive, and reliable storm services that Riggs Distler provides to our diverse range of customers. #RiggsDistler #StormResponse

When disaster strikes, we get to work.
When a storm passes, the thick of our work begins. Our crews from Linetec Services and Riggs Distler have been instrumental in helping to restore power on behalf of more than half a dozen major utility customers following Hurricane Beryl, an event that left millions of Texans without power. The work requires extensive coordination- including mobilization of equipment such as trucks, diggers, and pole trailers, and people- including more than 50 crews from across the United States. We are incredibly proud of our crews that are working around the clock to help communities get back on their feet, ensuring safety is their top priority. #HurricaneBeryl
