  • At the end of 2022, Red Oak Behavioral Health was awarded a $2 million federal capital grant as part of the FY 2023 Omnibus Appropriations Bill approved by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Biden. Championed by both Senator Sherrod Brown and Congressman Tim Ryan, the Red Oak project was one of only fifteen community projects to receive funding in Northeast Ohio. This funding is being used to upgrade and expand Red Oak’s Akron facility to make it more trauma-informed and accessible for clients and consumers, create a training center for use by nonprofit professionals, and expand the agency’s capacity to serve more children and families in the surrounding community. The renovations align with the agency’s commitment to providing safe and supportive community mental health services.  “At a time when the need for behavioral health services has nearly doubled nationwide, this project will have a profound and lasting impact on Red Oak’s ability to add additional staff and transform more lives in the community,” said President and CEO, Megan Kleidon. Please review the attached press release for temporary locations and more information. https://lnkd.in/gf_aQm6p

  • Coming your way May 2024!! Red Oak's renovated facility will be a trauma-informed and accessible space for those we serve and broaden the scope of the services provided, allowing for onsite group services and the creation of a formal training center for use by both consumers and nonprofit social service professionals.  We are excited about the positive impact this upgrade will have on the overall well-being of our clients, staff, and community!

The Design Team is working on getting the Red Oak Behavioral Health Renovation project ready for submission to the Building Department for a permit. Construction is to start in early October. This is a #collaborative process to help Design focus on critical information and inform decisions of construction systems to facilitate meeting budget and schedule goals. These images have been recently developed showing a new centralized entrance for the building utilizing an existing area of the building and the stair tower to the left is a new addition integrated to visually blend with the existing building. Reach out to our Design team if you have a renovation in mind! #MetisProud #Metishighlights #WhatsGoingOnAtMetis #renovationproject
