The benefits of resale integrating directly on your main-line site is clear. COYUCHI is a leader that others will surely follow: "Until recently, 2nd Home Renewed was hosted on a site separate from Coyuchi’s main ecommerce site. This made for a less-than-ideal shopping experience. It also was challenging for Chung and his team, who were managing multiple sites, and separate marketing and other functions. "Coyuchi partnered with Recurate, which offers a tech-enabled resale service, to integrate 2nd Home Renewed into its main site, and now can offer customers a seamless shopping experience. Coyuchi also is better able to better understand customers’ behaviors, while introducing its main customers to the resale opportunity."

Even if this article didn't highlight COYUCHI's 2nd Home Renewed program in partnership with Bleckmann and Recurate, it would still be a good overview of innovation in circular supply chains across different industries. I was particularly surprised by this statistic: "About 55% of organizations responding to a recent Bain & Company survey had made some commitment to circularity." Thanks Karen Kroll for the lovely conversation and opportunity to share how we have been a pioneer in this space for nearly a decade! #supplychain #circularity #sustainability #hometextiles #collaboration #resale #recommerce https://lnkd.in/gah7N4E9

Research from the Green Alliance reenforces the benefits of resale ♻, both for brands and for the environment: "Positioned prominently in the waste hierarchy, reuse will be crucial in helping us achieve our Textiles 2030 targets, promising a 6% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and an 8% decrease in water usage. Resale also makes commercial sense, as revealed in the report, with secondhand clothing fetching up to 55 per cent of its initial recommended retail price in some instances."

77 per cent of the British public would support targets to increase clothing reuse, according to new polling commissioned by the Green Alliance for its ‘Changing fashion: what people want from a greener clothing industry’ report. 🎯🏷️ Released today for #EarthDay2024, the report delves into the rapidly evolving reuse landscape in the UK and public receptivity to secondhand goods. It builds on previous research from WRAP, which found that 54% of the public are happy to purchase secondhand or vintage clothing, with cost being their primary motivator. WRAP’s Textiles Delivery Manager, Kathryn Tims, and Lead Analyst, Sarah Gray, were among the experts who contributed their insights to the report. Kathryn emphasized, “Reuse is on the rise in the UK, which is great news for the planet, businesses, and people’s pockets. “Positioned prominently in the waste hierarchy, reuse will be crucial in helping us achieve our Textiles 2030 targets, promising a 6% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and an 8% decrease in water usage. Resale also makes commercial sense, as revealed in the report, with secondhand clothing fetching up to 55 per cent of its initial recommended retail price in some instances. "This year, through our Textiles 2030 Circular Business Models Working Group, we’re primed to build on these insights and those gained through our Circular Business Models Guide by collaborating with our members to bolster our collective understanding of the economic benefits of resale in order to initiate resale pilots.” 📚 You can read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/e5AVJsFW 🤝 If your business could benefit from being a part of our Circular Business Models Working Group, enquire about Textiles 2030 here: https://lnkd.in/ekEhMBdM

According to Google's top trends in sustainability "Global searches for thrifting more than doubled over the past 3 years, reaching an all time high in 2023." We are seeing this growth firsthand and are encouraged by the number of consumers who are making sustainable changes in their everyday lives through resale, recycling, repair, etc.

At Recurate, we believe strongly that the resale shopping experience should match the "new" product experience. The best way to deliver an equivalent experience is to deliver the *same* experience. That is why we are so proud to usher in the next generation of COYUCHI's 2nd Home Renewed program. After running a separate site resale experience for years, we were able to leverage our Shopify application to deliver a fully integrated resale experience. A whopping 57% of orders through the soft launch phase included mixed carts containing both new and used items - an experience only Recurate is able to deliver. And, managing a fully integrated resale channel means Coyuchi only needs to manage and drive traffic to a single ecomm experience. Huge shout out to our partner Bleckmann for supporting on the logistics and operations and we can't wait to see this program grow! https://lnkd.in/exX8tMH9 CC: Marcus Chung, Nicole Bassett
