A community center for all in recovery focusing on the four dimensions of recovery: Health, Home, Purpose and Community.

About us

The Recovery Café is a community of individuals from all paths of life. No matter where your steps have taken you; we are a place of support and stability. We do this by providing a beautiful, safe, warm, drug and alcohol-free space that comes with a loving community to anchor people in the sustained recovery they need to gain and maintain access to recovery resources such as: housing, social and health services, healthy relationships, education, and employment. Simply put we are a community center in support of all pathways to recovery. Traditionally, a person receives support when they are in crisis and finds that the support is removed once they begin to experience stability. That model of emergency intervention and abandonment sets one up for a tumultuous existence. The recovery café is the compassionate system of care of long-term support that’s available indefinitely. Members receive the care they need and typically reciprocate by becoming emerging leaders within their recovery community. The Recovery Café Hamilton County will support our members • with a delicious and nutritious meal each day we are open. • We provide a supportive healing community of people in recovery from addiction, trauma, homelessness, and other mental health challenges • We provide classes focusing on a variety of topics including relapse prevention, building healthy relationships, skill building, painting, writing, yoga and much more. We call this our School for Recovery. The recovery café services are free of charge to our members and guests. Our Members: • participate weekly in Recovery Circles. • Contribute to the life of the community, giving back to the café or community in some way. Our Goals at the Café are • to increase access to peer recovery support, • increase connectedness to the recovery community in Hamilton County, • increase awareness of recovery skills

Sun Bucks is a new benefits program that provides families $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out. Most eligible families will get these benefits automatically, but some parents will need to apply. This new program is available in addition to free meals that kids of all ages can get at summer meal sites in their communities. $120 isn't a lot of food but it can make a big difference. Let's feed these kids. #foodsecurity #hungrykids https://lnkd.in/gxZTa2NN

  • These are excellent tips - and don’t let the number 45 scare you (I almost did). They’re a quick read - and worth re-reading multiple times each year. I just started following Will McTighe - you might want to follow him, too.

My 45 simple rules for career success. I wish I had learned these 10 years earlier: 1. Use your 20s to develop skills and figure out your life’s work. 2. Ask people who know you well to identify your strengths. Find jobs that use them. 3. Don’t send angry messages. Revisit with a cooler head. 4. Always overdeliver when working with someone new. 5. Don’t feel guilty for ending unhealthy relationships. 6. You are a product of your actions and thoughts. Build healthy ones. 7. Sleep on big decisions. 8. Be the note-taker. Writing = learning. 9. Be the person who gets things done every day. 10. Compounding is the 8th wonder of the world. Make a little progress every day. 11. Your time is more valuable than your money. Spend it well. 12. Take responsibility for your outcomes. Empower yourself to create different ones. 13. Save early. Feeling rich comes from spending less than you earn. 14. Be impatient short-term, and patient long-term. 15. Make decisions to minimize regrets. Regret haunts more than fear. 16. Take rest as seriously as work to avoid burnout. 17. Get offline. Recharging in nature > watching TikTok. 18. Build real professional relationships; you’ll make lifelong friends. 19. Learn to say hard things to people’s faces. 20. Being easy to work with counts for more than IQ. 21. Always send the follow-up email. 22. Understand your managers’ goals and help them achieve them. 23. Before asking your manager a question, ask ChatGPT. 24. You have 2 ears and 1 mouth—use them proportionally. 25. Don’t take advice from people who haven’t achieved what you’re trying to. 26. Trust someone until they give you a reason not to. It’s worth it. 27. Behave like everyone is watching, even when no one is. 28. Ask for feedback. Others see things you can’t. 29. Find a stable relationship. It’s the most important decision you’ll make. 30. Clear your emotional baggage. 31. You cannot look after others until you’ve looked after yourself. 32. Surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you. 33. Learn to say no to things that don’t align with your goals. 34. Don’t take rudeness personally. You don’t know what’s going on for them. 35. Consume inspirational content to create your vision for the future. 36. Find and pay to learn from experts. 37. Most wealth comes from a few opportunities. Act fast when you see them. 38. Take opportunities that scare you. 39. Start investing in the S&P 500 from your first paycheck. Set up recurring buys. 40. Hard work is the foundation of success. 41. Build your personal brand early. 42. To make atypical money, take an atypical career path. 43. Turn every failure into learning with reflection. 44. Taking a job to prepare for another job is usually a waste. You’ll figure it out. Life is short, make it count. — ♻️ Repost this to help your network become top performers. 📌 Want a high-resolution PDF of this? 1. Just follow me Will McTighe 2. • Here is some encouraging news - let’s keep collaborating so that everyone can find pathways for healing and people who will come alongside in support so each and everyone of us can thrive.

Director of Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction | Chair, Indiana Behavioral Health Commission | Aspen Institute Ascend Fellow

Last 18 months in Indiana behavioral health: ✅ Historic Investment by our legislature in a new behavioral health infrastructure (Michael Crider and Co.) ✅ Consistent top 5 988 answer rate (Kara Biro and Lindsay Potts MSW, LCSW and team) ✅ Massive reduction in wait time for people found incompetent to stand trial to receive services (Katrina Norris and crew) ✅ Most recent news, provisional CDC data shows a 17% drop in overdose deaths (Kelly Welker and team) We also continue to lose far too many of our friends and neighbors to suicide and overdose, and access to care is an issue for many people, and we have significant challenges with workforce recruitment and retention. What’s the takeaway? Investment, collaboration, and committed leadership work, and we need a more of each. I like our chances with our team, though. https://lnkd.in/ehx_PE93
