Sustainable ADA Signage – Top Six Trends: http://j.mp/35xiFu9 It is no longer sufficient for manufacturers to assert that signage is eco-friendly. Increasingly those who work with ADA signs want to know what signs are made of, how signs are made, and what a sign manufacturer values. They also want to be able to clearly and easily understand a sign’s environmental impact. #Signage #ADA #Greenbuilding #Architecture #Architects #GreenArchitecture #Design #GreenDesign @USGBC #Sustainability #LEED #Climatechange #Facilities #Maintenance #CRE A Great Introduction by #GreenDotSign!

Water Sensors Save Water and Money; Check out this introduction to Sensor Industries with Green Builder Matt Hoots and Richard Lohrey: https://buff.ly/3rVC5ou Leaks and flooding are inevitable in any multi-use property. A solution in mitigating the cost and damage of these unfortunate events is to install sensor monitoring systems that give real-time alerts about water leaks. Richard Lohrey, Marketing Director of Sensor Industries, describes the importance of implementing water sensors into property equipment and piping. Since toilets are the primary water waste culprit in multi-use commercial buildings, the toilet sensors are of course a top recommendation. According to Richard, “20% of all toilets leak.” Slow leaks waste 200-250 gallons per day, and major flapper leaks can waste up to 5,000 gallons per day. Not only do these leaks result in a pure waste of water, but they can also add up to a major financial burden. Surprisingly, the vast majority of leaks go undetected. A leak could go on for a very long time—and that wasted water is lost revenue, and potentially expensive flood claims. #SensorIndustries #water #waterleaks #leaks #waterconservation #multifamily #toilets #IoT #facilities #propertymanagement #building #buildings #CRE #ROI #plumbing #maintenance #repairs

Key Humidity Control Concepts with Nikki Krueger from Therma-Stor: https://buff.ly/3ovZCMG Nikki Kruger explains how humidity works, the building science behind humidity control, and how to make your home more comfortable. She covers ALL of the building science factors that affect humidity and explains how each works. Some key concepts: Temperature and Humidity Control are NOT the same; What factors contribute to higher Relative Humidity (RH)?; Why control humidity below the house?; Why we need dedicated humidity equipment; Dehumidifiers and energy efficiency; and What homeowners can do to Control Humidity. She also shares some great resources. This interview is a great example of how sharing expertise can help everyone down the green building, healthy building, and smart building learning curve. Humidity is a such a great topic, as both too little or too much moisture can be harmful to people and property. But proper humidity control can be a part of ensuring comfort, health, and clean and safe indoor air quality conditions. Thanks Nikki!
