PowerMarket is excited about our partnership with Redwood Family Care Network (RFCN) in Southern California. RFCN has subscribed 35 of its residential facilities serving those with intellectual and developmental disabilities to Inyokern, the largest community solar project in California. Housing stability, air quality, and grid reliability are all greatly affected by climate change, and also have an impact on quality of life and health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Thanks to Solar Power World for covering this important milestone! Read more below. #communitysolar #climatechange #powermarket

🌞This was a big week for the City of Long Beach🌞 The city council voted to enroll 470 of their municipal accounts into PowerMarket's community solar program! 🎉 This is a monumental shift towards a sustainable future! By switching this portion of their energy demand, they're setting a powerful example for cities nationwide and proving that Californians want community solar options. This initiative not only aligns with Long Beach’s ambitious climate goals but also brings significant savings. The city will save an estimated $35,000 annually, demonstrating that achieving climate goals doesn't have to come with costs. What's even more exciting? Long Beach residents and other SCE customers who don’t have rooftop solar can also enroll in this program. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone in the community can contribute to and benefit from a cleaner, greener future. Check the comments for a link to sign up. Shout out to Jason Kaplan, the incredible Long Beach Sustainability Team, and the dedicated Long Beach City council and Mayor for making this possible. #CommunitySolar #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #LongBeach #PowerMarket #ClimateAction

Creating a #communitysolar program that benefits all Americans could be within our reach if we, as an industry, work together to develop creative solutions. This is exactly what Jason Kaplan, PowerMarket’s COO, discusses in his final article regarding the opportunities and pitfalls of the Treasury’s guidance for the IRA’s Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program. Jason highlights opportunities for improvement in the guidance and proposes potential solutions to make the programs more accessible to the communities they are intended to support. Read the full article in Solar Power World. We welcome ideas and suggestions from others who work in the community solar space. Let's work through these challenges together! https://lnkd.in/eiSBV2vK Interested in learning about PowerMarket's clean energy solutions? PowerMarket is proud to align with the Clean Energy Communities program by offering turn-key community solar campaigns, recognized as a high-impact action eligible for generous grants. We help residents save up to 10% on utility bills while promoting clean energy. Our partnership includes crafting tailored outreach at no cost, demonstrating leadership in clean energy and benefiting communities and the environment. For local governments seeking to leverage state grant funding opportunities, PowerMarket is your partner. Let’s work together for a sustainable future.
Big update! NYSERDA's Clean Energy Communities program now offers more solutions for local governments investing in clean energy by supporting even more high-impact actions! These actions now include benchmarking, build-ready, renewable energy, and clean fleets. Participating in the Clean Energy Communities program not only helps local governments save energy, they also earn Clean Energy Community (CEC) designation. When high-impact actions are completed, the community receives points, which can be used toward future grant funding. We’re helping communities create a healthier, more sustainable environment for all residents. https://on.ny.gov/3wyjggX Interested in data? The Inyokern Community Solar project is different from all of the other solar projects in East Kern. This one actually creates a direct and positive impact for Inyokern/Ridgecrest residents in Kern County, CA. PowerMarket is proud to prioritize the inclusion of the host communities where its community solar projects are located. Our COO, Jason Kaplan, recently engaged with East Kern residents about this important, local project and how their community can reap the benefits - both monetary and environmental. Are you a Southern California Edison (SCE) customer? Visit our website to learn more about #communitysolar and sign up! https://lnkd.in/e29PhUDk
Last week I was in Ridgecrest, CA ensuring that Kern County residents were educated and engaged on the largest #communitysolar project in CA. Being local isn't just about proximity; its about fostering collaboration, sustainability, and empowering community towards a brighter, greener future. #cacommunitysolar #communitysolar #eastkern
