Although completed in late January, Portland Parks & Recreation recently celebrated the grand opening of Errol Heights Park with partners, advisory committee members, neighbors and colleagues. As you can see, I personally inspected the playground slide :) I invite everyone to come and visit this amazing new community park, that has something for everyone! “We have reimagined what a hybrid park and natural area can be,” says PP&R Director Adena Long. “Restored wetlands and wildlife viewing spots complement new play areas and picnic grounds. This is an impressive, unique, and beautiful Portland park!” $12M in System Development Charges (not General Fund tax dollars) funded: • Playground with natural play features, designed for people with a variety of skills and abilities • Portland Loo (restroom) • Splash pad water play feature • Skate spot (smaller skateboard area) • Elevated boardwalk and connection (ADA-accessible) • Basketball court (half-court) • Entry landscape beds • Lawn area • Wetland viewpoints and science education platform • Trails (ADA-accessible) • Public art sculpture • More than 450 trees planted • Native plants • 11 picnic tables (five ADA-accessible) https://lnkd.in/gC_J9qft

Once a year, Welch shuts its doors while all of our employees donate a workday to doing volunteer work in our community. Last week, we worked with Portland Parks & Recreation to help clean-up Mt. Tabor Park. We planted shrubs and trees, weeded pathways and tennis courts, and spread bark dust in the gardens and chip rock along trails. It's a small way to give back to our community while enjoying the beauty of our city and spending time together as a team. #welchworkwear #donateaday #communityservice #teambuilding #lovewhereyouwork
