As National Homeownership Month comes to an end, we’d like to highlight the incredible work of the Portland Housing Center. Their mission to make homeownership accessible through quality home buyer education, one-on-one guidance, financial services, and a variety of other resources aligns perfectly with our values. By empowering Portland-area residents with the tools and support needed, they have helped more than 10,000 families become successful homeowners. We deeply value their dedication and impact in making homeownership a reality for so many in their community.

Portland Housing Center is proud to be a recipient of three Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund Awards through partnership with Wells Fargo, Washington Trust Bank, and Umpqua Bank. These awards will invest $127,500 into our community and support PHC's efforts to increase access to homeownership!

Portland Housing Center Board of Directors is seeking new members! We are looking for subject matter experts in Lending, Housing, Real Estate, Non-Profit Board Governance, Banking and/or Finance to join our Board. Members commit to attending eight, 2-hour meetings per year, with a willingness to serve on an advisory committee as necessary to fulfill the needs of the organization and/or community. We are excited to announce a partnership with PORTLAND HOUSING CENTER to bring our CASA20 loan program to their homebuying clients. CASA20 is a loan up to $100,000 with a lower interest rate, for the down payment on a house available to qualified homebuyers earning above $100,000. Last month, Portland Housing Center celebrated Black History Month in a grand way! Community members including elected officials, first time homeowners, potential homeowners, financial institutions, real estate professionals and many more joined us in celebrating the remarkable achievements of 116 first time homebuyers identified through the City of Portland’s Preference Policy on Thursday, February 22nd at The Redd on Salmon. The event was sponsored by Wells Fargo (title sponsor), and participating sponsors, Adre, Portland Housing Bureau, Think Real Estate PDX, Umpqua Bank, Banner Bank, and Sierra Pacific Mortgage Company, Inc. Leading up the event, Portland Business Journal interviewed PHC past client, now Board Member and N/NE Oversight Committee member, Ta’Neshia Renae. The day after the event, OPB interviewed Portland Housing Bureau’s Leslie Goodlow and PHC’s Executive Director, Dana Shephard.
