We move with purpose to make big things happen.

About us

With our three airports, four marine terminals, five business parks, and hundreds of employees, we’re an economic engine for transforming our region into a place where everyone is welcome, empowered, and connected to the opportunity to find a good job or grow their business. Our job is to pull down barriers and connect people and local businesses who have been left out of the region’s economic growth – including people of color, low-income workers, and people with disabilities – to powerful opportunities. Using our resources, expertise, and influence, we create jobs, help locally owned businesses grow, and help attract more quality employers to the state. The power behind the Port? Our people. Join the team and help drive meaningful change for everyone who lives and works here.

Can you see it? Our local construction team has made so much progress on the new PDX. In the spirit of honesty, we’re not *done* done. There’s a lot to “ooh and aah” at, but the entire project won’t be fully complete until winter 2025/2026. Swipe through to see the magic happening behind the scenes: 🌲 The new PDX is bringing the forest vibes indoors with so many plants and trees. When we’re done, there will be 5,000+ plants inside PDX. 🛍 Shopping just got a whole lot more local! From quirky cards at Paper Epiphanies to the revival of the Country Cat, our pre-security shops are another reason to arrive to the airport early. 🍺 With 96 Oregon beers on tap, cozy blue booths, and incredible airfield views from the mezzanine, Loyal Legion is the ultimate pre-flight hangout. 👋 Say goodbye to security line stress! Our upgraded TSA checkpoints mean a more efficient security process. 🚶♀️ Check out the stunning Yoonhee glass walls while strolling through the concourse connector—yes, it's making a grand comeback! August 14th is just around the corner. Whether you’re flying out or just want to explore, get ready to chill, shop, and dine.

Pardon the exclamation overload, but we have some VERY BIG NEWS!!!! The new PDX opens August 14th!!!! We’re putting the final touches on the space – ticket counters are in; artists are finishing their magic; trees have been planted (!!!); and local shops and restaurants are getting their signs up. All that’s missing is YOU! If you've got travel plans on or after August 14th, you'll be one of the first to explore everything PDX-y and new. But hey, even if you're not flying, you can still join the fun! And they’re up! We just installed Yoonhee Choi’s incredible glass walls in the new PDX. These 56-foot-long art installations feature vibrant lines and playful shapes that invite your imagination to wander amidst the typical hustle and bustle of an airport. Portland-based artist, Yoonhee brings a unique blend of city planning, architecture, and art to her work. She describes her design as a "whimsical map of an imaginary land," that encourages endless interpretations. So, the next time you’re in the TSA line, it might feel more like a stroll through a modern art museum.

We know you’re fond of the PDX carpet, but Ben Deumling, of Zena Forest Products, is hoping you’re fall in love with something else under your feet this August – wood! Ben and Sarah Deumling have transformed their family’s forest and local woodlands into the stunning white-oak floors that will be part of the new PDX. Not only are these floors a beautiful sight; they also represent a significant step forward in forest restoration and stewardship. Sarah, Ben’s mother, still actively tending their forest daily, has joined Ben in creating PDX’s unique edge-grain flooring tiles sourced from their land and nearby restoration projects. We’re honored to be Zena’s first major customer, helping to lead the way in forest-to-floor practices. Explore the full story on pdxnext.com.
