Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 1,557 followers
A nonprofit working with young people lacking stability in their lives including trauma or facing homelessness.
About us
Established in 1972, Pivot, A Turning Point for Youth, works with young people lacking stability in their lives. These young people are often homeless or couch homeless, alone or disengaged. Our 12 to 24 year olds have overwhelming barriers in their lives without the resources to overcome them and successfully transition into self-reliant adults. Pivot is committed to long-term impact in the lives of the youth we serve. We provide programs and services that focus on meeting housing and basic needs; education and job assistance; mentoring and life skills development; prevention and intervention services; and therapeutic care including mental health and substance abuse care. We believe that regardless of the circumstances from which young people come or the obstacles they face, they deserve access to educational and vocational opportunities, a stable and safe place to live, healthy permanent connections and overall well-being. *Formerly Youth Services for Oklahoma County.

Our employee volunteers picked up their paintbrushes to complete the first projects of our New Paint for a New Start initiative, part of our COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program. In Canada, 18 volunteers from our Architectural Coatings team came together to refresh hallways and the new library at the Ronald McDonald House Charities South Central Ontario. We donated more than 20 gallons of our PPG Paints PERMA-CRETE® PITT-FLEX® and Glidden ® Ultra™ Interior paints to help protect and beautify the home away from home for families who are seriously ill and being treated at nearby hospitals. In Oklahoma City, 25 volunteers donated their time and more than 60 gallons of our PPG Paints MANOR HALL® paint to protect and beautify hallways, continuing education and workforce development offices at Pivot - A Turning Point for Youth, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for students. Our volunteers will be completing more than 25 colorful and transformative makeovers for schools and educational spaces worldwide by the end of August. #ProtectandBeautify #ColorfulCommunities
