I am thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $25,000 grant via Allergan and IFundWomen.  Over 11,000 applicants submitted their application about how the confidence gap affected their entrepreneurial journey. I haven't been shy about how confidence comes into play as a female founder promoting a femtech brand. We couldn't be more excited to be part of this cohort of AMAZING women making products and services that are changing the world.   See more info below. #femalefounders #confidencegap #femtech #funding #startuplife https://lnkd.in/eyAzJM3m

I’m excited to announce a new partnership that has been integral to our growth. Pippy Sips is proud to announce our partnership with BARC Developmental Services, a local organization that serves individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) and Autism. BARC was integral to getting units ready for our recent launch at Target. We couldn't have done it without them! Years ago the Pippy Sips founders had profound experiences working with persons living on the spectrum or with ID, and we’re so glad to have found a way to re-engage with this community. #partnerships #growth #launch

I'm super pumped to announce that Pippy Sips was featured on the Female Founder World podcast with Jasmine Garnsworthy. This has been one of my go-to podcasts and never thought I would have the honor of being a guest. Jasmine is an expert at diving into the entrepreneurial journey and the ups and downs that come with it. This episode is a great testament to her skill in the way that it encapsulates the last 7 years in 34 minutes. Also, wasn't sure how this podcast was going to come out because it was one of those Philly days where a car alarm was going off ALL day and our water was turned off. 🥴 Listen on Apple, Spotify or wherever you listen to your podcasts. #femalefounder #phillyproblems #entrepreneurialjourney

At Pippy Sips we always love working with good people running amazing companies. Excited about continuing our collaboration with Sharif at LaserPhilly and the talented team (Patrice Hayden Meagher, Taylor Salit Cohen + Caroline Smith Luke) at MilkMate to bring some beautifully laser-engraved Maias to more pumping Moms. Shout out to Adam Salamon for connecting Pippy Sips with MilkMate! #collaboration #B2B #pumpingmoms #shoutout #goodpeople

Recently, I had yet another jarring experience in the startup world. I met with two business consultants who are associated with an investor. Relatively quickly into the meeting, one individual suggested a product idea and prefaced with, "you can throw this idea in the trash if you don't like it." They told a story about working in an environment where "men would get uncomfortable when seeing breastmilk in the fridge and wouldn't want to put their food near it." At this point in the experience, I stopped them and said that this behavior was "unacceptable" and "sexist," hoping for acknowledgement. But the individual proceeded to state, "what if you make a bag to put the breastmilk bottles in so the men are more comfortable?" My heart raced as I struggled to respond, expressing that their suggestion missed the essence of our product and brand. I think the hardest part of this experience was that this person was a woman. I am somewhat hardened to hearing these types of statements from men. I pitched last month to a room full of men who were giggling about breastmilk when I entered the room (I should have just walked out). To me, this experience was more disheartening and forces me to widen the scope of my vision for Pippy Sips. From DAY ONE, Maia was about empowering the end-user and combatting the barriers in the pumping process. That will always be the goal. And "yes," I will be throwing the "bag" idea into the trash as well as the notion that breastfeeding and pumping Moms need to change their behavior to make someone else comfortable. #femalefounder #femtech #brandvalues #startupworld

    BIG NEWS! 🎉

What two things do I repeat to myself most days? "I think I can-I think I can-I think I can..." "Play it as it lays..." Those two refrains keep this startup founder going. You get extra credit if you know which two pieces of literature I am referencing. The second one is pretty easy 😉 Makes sense that "The Little Engine That Could" was my favorite childhood story. A startup founder is the Little Engine that could! But you also need the flexibility that Didion references in "Play It As It Lays." You need to be able to play the hand you were dealt the best you can. Sometimes that means making BIG things out of very little... This is a longwinded way of saying that through grit, persistence and flexibility we are proud to announce that we have gone live on Target.com. Pippy Sips is making breastmilk even cooler at Target.com! #targetlaunch #ithinkican #playitasitlays #makebreastmilkevencooler

I come from a long history of advocating for others. I am married to the son of two former Social Workers, both of whom still work in professions dedicated to helping others. I also grew up volunteering with my parents at Glide Memorial (SF) during the holidays. Giving back is in my DNA. When we started Pippy Sips, it was vital to us to integrate "giving back" into our brand. I also knew as a former pumping parent, how expensive and difficult it can be to successfully breastfeed/pump. I was lucky enough to have the support and resources that I needed but know this isn't the case for everyone. To that end, I am excited to share about our “buy one, give one” campaign. We’ve teamed up with Shayla Bryant from Malawi House and Colette Acker, IBCLC from The Breastfeeding Resource Center (BRC). For each two Maia units bought today through Sunday (12/17), one will be given to Malawi House and one to BRC. Click on the link below to "buy one, give one" (a little discount has been included😉) https://lnkd.in/evagpDvC #givingback #holidayseason #buyonegiveone
