Updates

  • This was an amazing weekend!

We were honored to have the First Lady of Belize, H.E. Mrs. Rosanna Briceño, co-host "Pathmakers Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders in Belize" in Washington, DC over the weekend. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to H.E. Nestor and Elvira Mendez for their invaluable support, and to the entire PathLight community of supporters who joined us to make this event a success. This is how change happens and this is how many paths to graduation and beyond are made. #thisispathlight

  • In Honor of the Late Miss Jenny Lovell. During her time with PathLight, Jenny Lovell played an invaluable role, especially throughout the pandemic. Her dedication and compassion were instrumental in shaping our psychosocial program for students and staff, providing much-needed support during challenging times. Earlier this year, Jenny trained three of our student mentors to be parenting coaches, a testament to her unwavering commitment to empowering others and making a lasting impact. Her presence, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who worked with her. As a tribute, here is a song of encouragement in which Jenny was the lead singer in her early life: Help Me Accept. Rest in peace, Jenny. Your legacy of love and support will continue to inspire us every day. Thank you for lighting the way with your incredible spirit.

  • Hurricane Update: All Clear in Belize! We're grateful to share that Belize has received the all-clear! Most of the country experienced heavy rain and gusty winds, with some flooding in certain areas. Thankfully, no lives were lost. However, the northern part of Belize was hit the hardest. In addition to your prayers, we kindly ask you to consider making a financial contribution. While PathLight's core mission is not emergency relief, we are dedicated to supporting the families of students and teachers when disaster strikes. Without this support, events like these can derail a student's journey toward their dreams. Your generous gift will enable PathLight to provide the necessary assistance to keep students' dreams on track. Thank you for your continued support and compassion. Donate Today and Help Make a Difference!

  • In Belize, we are vigilantly watching and praying for our neighbors in the Caribbean impacted by Hurricane Beryl. Our prayers extend to our friends in Mexico and, of course, to our beloved Belize. Would you join us in prayer? We will keep you updated in the coming days.

  • We have graduation photos from this weekend to share with you later, but first, this Path team is off to a great start in Orange Walk! This morning we visited Banquetas House of Culture to learn some history of Orange Walk and to experience the art of sawdust painting. Many thanks to Ms Cindey Rivero for a rich tour and a lot of fun with hands-on-learning! Join us for a Path trip to “Come and see what the Lord has done!”

  • It's PathLight graduation week! Because Destiny's sponsors believed her when she said she had the grit and drive to make it to graduation and because they decided $2300/year is a bargain to make someone's dreams come true, they sponsored her and now she is graduating! Not only that, but she is going to university this fall to study law. This is the stuff of dreams for a girl in Belize who couldn't afford high school tuition and the costs associated with it, because those sponsors are continuing to underwrite her tertiary tuition. Destiny will get the spiritual and emotional support she needs from her mentor and the financial support she needs from her sponsors in order to succeed in college. But first, there's a celebration to attend and summer!
