Hurricane Update: All Clear in Belize! We're grateful to share that Belize has received the all-clear! Most of the country experienced heavy rain and gusty winds, with some flooding in certain areas. Thankfully, no lives were lost. However, the northern part of Belize was hit the hardest. In addition to your prayers, we kindly ask you to consider making a financial contribution. While PathLight's core mission is not emergency relief, we are dedicated to supporting the families of students and teachers when disaster strikes. Without this support, events like these can derail a student's journey toward their dreams. Well, for those of us along the west coast of FL, we are currently experiencing Hurricane Idalia. Prayers of safety for everyone impacted. So what are 5 Things Nonprofit Board Members might do during and following a local hurricane? - #1 Take care of yourself and your family. - #2 Let your CEO/ED know you care about them and hope they are safe. - #3 Check in the the CEO/ED after the storm passes to inquire about them and the organization. #4 Consider making an extra financial contribution and rallying your other board members to do the same. - #5 Let the CEO/ED do his/her job! If they need assistance, they will reach out. As much as you want to get involved, be conscience that your involvement may not necessarily be helpful. #I501cYou #nonprofit #nonprofitboards

🌪️ Hurricane Preparedness with The King Makers Consultant Agency LLC: The Importance of a PACE Plan and Donating Blood 🌪️ As we anticipate the hurricane’s approach this Sunday, The King Makers Consultant Agency LLC wants to emphasize the critical importance of having a PACE (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency) plan and the vital need for blood donations during this time. Why a PACE Plan Matters: 1. Primary Plan: Your main strategy for safety and continuity. Ensure you have all essential supplies, a secure place to stay, and a communication plan with family and colleagues. 2. Alternate Plan: If your primary plan becomes unfeasible, have a backup route or location ready. This might mean knowing alternative shelters or having a secondary means of transportation. 3. Contingency Plan: Prepare for potential disruptions, such as power outages or road closures. Stock up on essentials like water, non-perishable food, batteries, and first aid supplies. 4. Emergency Plan: In critical situations, immediate action is needed. Know your evacuation routes, have a go-bag ready, and stay informed through reliable weather updates. The Call to Donate Blood: During natural disasters, the need for blood donations often increases due to potential injuries and disruptions in regular donation schedules. By donating blood, you can save lives and support your community in times of crisis. Action Steps: 1. Prepare Your PACE Plan: Review and update your primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency plans. Ensure all family members are aware and ready to act. 2. Donate Blood: Find a local blood drive or donation center and contribute if you’re able. Your donation can make a significant difference in emergency medical care during and after the hurricane. At The King Makers Consultant Agency LLC, our mission is to ensure community resilience and preparedness. We believe in proactive planning and community support to weather any storm. Let’s stay prepared, stay safe, and support each other through this challenging time. Together, we can make a difference. #TheKingMakersConsultantAgency #HurricanePreparedness #PACEPlan #EmergencyPlanning #BloodDonation #CommunitySupport #StaySafe

I help communities become disaster-resilient by creating plans and practices that match their vision of recovery.
As hurricane season approaches, the importance of preparedness cannot be overstated. Both government entities and non-profit organizations play crucial roles in safeguarding our communities. To Government Entities ➡️ Elevate your emergency preparedness by refining your strategies and ensuring resource allocation aligns with community needs. Collaboration is not optional; it is essential for success. To Non-Profit Organizations ➡️ Your engagement and education efforts are the backbone of community resilience. Strengthen your ties with governmental agencies to ensure a unified, effective response and recovery strategy. This hurricane season, the call to action is clear. Review, refine, and ready your plans. Engage with your community, lead with authority, and stand together in the face of adversity. Our preparedness today defines our resilience tomorrow. Together, we can turn the tide against uncertainty, ensuring a safer, stronger future for all. 🚨 Emergency Response in Action! 🚨 When a hurricane impacts our region, Houston Food Bank mobilizes as an emergency response organization to support our 18-county service area. Here's how it works: 🍏 Step 1: Asks Our teams work with various organizations to receive financial, food and product donations which are all needed during disaster-relief. 💚 Step 2: Volunteer Efforts Our incredible volunteers sort food, clean items, and pack boxes to make sure everything is safe and ready for distributions. 🚛 Step 3: Distribution The food is then distributed to communities close to home. 🍽️ 🙌 Step 4: Giving Finally, our partners distribute the food to our neighbors. 📦 ❤️ Finding the nearest food distribution helps them save vital resources like gas, money, and time.
