Oso is a batteries-included system for authorization.
About us
Authorization is a challenge for everyone, but has been solved by no one. Oso is authorization as a service. It provides abstractions for building and iterating on authorization in your application.

Most of our eng team uses Language Server Protocol (LSP) implementations in their editors. Rust, TypeScript, and others all have fantastic LSP implementations that make the hard work of building software a bit easier! We knew that building our own LSP implementation for Polar (Oso's policy language) would go a long way to making Oso the absolute easiest way to write your authorization logic––and today we’re pleased to announce it’s shipped and widely available 🙌!! Now Vim and Emacs folks (and users of any editor) can take advantage of the powerful tooling in our VSCode plugin and our web editor. See more in our latest blog post. I feel like I learn something new about Koala every time we do a new episode of Path to Pipeline – and our latest episode with the great Montana Ames @ Oso is no different! Road Trips 🚙 Montana shared a use-case I had never seen before. She's using the IP geo filters to load up her calendar when she's already heading to a city. Closed Lost Revivals 🔄 She had some awesome tips on how she reactivated a deal that they thought they had lost to a competitor by re-engaging at just the right time. PS I borrowed the first play to book a meeting with Montana herself just yesterday – thanks for showing me around Williamsburg! 🙃 Check out her playbook here: https://lnkd.in/gT4R7BxE

Join us in just a few hours (2pm EDT) for a live talk and demo on Distributed Authorization with Oso cofounder/CTO Sam Scott and Oso engineer Vijay Ramamurthy! 🤔 Why attend? - To use an authorization service you’ve traditionally had to synchronize all authorization-relevant data to it. But syncing is hard. - Enter Distributed Authorization — a new way to handle shared permissions data while leaving the rest of your data in your application databases. - Dive into what Distributed Authorization is, what it means, how to use it and how we built it. RSVP via link below. https://lnkd.in/gZuz2niX

The next generation of security is taking form now. 🔒 Over the last twenty years, the advent of cloud and mobile has given rise to the security engineer. Breakthroughs in AI and edge computing continue to complicate security with new and sophisticated threats stemming from synthetic data usage and prompt injection. And with the world more distributed than ever, it is imperative to secure not only our workplaces but our datasets, browsers, devices, and everything in between.
