Orchid Health was founded on the idea that rural communities deserve access to high-quality healthcare services. It’s unacceptable that tens of thousands of rural Oregonians still aren’t offered a fair chance at personal stability and advancement due to a lack of primary healthcare.
Our mission:
To advance a new model for community health to thrive based on relationships, joy in work, and healthy equity.
Our core values:
Challenge the status quo. Cultivate respect. Courageously vulnerable and accountable.
I'm excited to share that Orchid Health has a new physician leadership position opening up in Lane County!
Are you burned out by the same status quo healthcare operating model that is being stubbornly perpetuated across the country? Do you enjoy exploring Oregon's beautiful natural environments? Have a passion for rural, relationship-based healthcare? This might be just the position for you!

Achieving the Quadruple Aim will never be done by following the status quo and yet so much of what we do in health care is done simply because that’s how we’ve always done it. I’m so grateful to work at a place that not only welcomes challenging the status quo, but actively encourages it as one of our core values. Orchid Health

Healthcare is complex. There is evidence of inequity and it is difficult to see obvious solutions in most cases. So when I heard of Orion Falvey and the impact that this young entrepreneur is having on healthcare in places where it is particularly challenging to deliver excellent care, it was a compelling podcast conversation. I'm thrilled to share it again.

Healthcare needs a new operating model. Thank you, Moyez Jiwa, for inviting me to your podcast.
The current model of centralized, top-down, command and control operations is resulting in a loss of humanity, extreme burnout among healthcare professionals, and many rural clinics either shutting down or being acquired by hospital systems. As a result, communities are rapidly losing what is often their only source of accessible healthcare.
It's an honor to work with my team at Orchid Health to create a more resilient, localized, and fulfilling "well-being first" community health model for our care teams and patients.
More to come on the specific components of what this model entails. :)

I am extremely honored to receive the University of Oregon Alumni Association's 2023 Outstanding Young Alumni Award this weekend in Eugene. Humbled and inspired to follow in the footsteps of some legends - Sen. Ron Wyden and Ann Curry among others.
The weekend is off to a great start! Reconnected with some amazing teachers, leaders, and thinkers last night over dinner - thank you Shannon Rose-Peterson and Raphe Beck for going above and beyond to set this up!
When I think about U of O, several words come to mind: realness, love, innovation, and community. These were all on full display last night and I am excited to lean into these values as I reconnect with student groups and additional school faculty over the weekend.
Thank you to my team at Orchid Health! My own personal journey would not be what it is today without your kindness, coaching, and courage. Thank you to my family and close friends for your unending support and wisdom.
With much gratitude,
O
