    Orca and Bleu Beauty are at Cosmoprof Vegas in a big way this month! We’re hosting a suite at the Mandalay Bay with live shopping shows streaming during the conference. Please feel free to get in touch with me, Elena Severin or Khudor Annous if you’ll be there and are interested in swinging by. On the 24th at 11am, I’ll be presenting a 101 guide on how to start and thrive in livestream and social commerce. I view this as a ‘working session’ with the aim of sharing the most important and actionable elements to bring a social commerce strategy to life whether you’re a brand, retailer, agency or creator.     Last week Orca threw it's first creator community party. Our goal was to bring exclusive brand, affiliate and content opportunities to LA-based creators. I was blown away by the response. 💡 200+ creators attended 💡 15 brands participated, including Estée Lauder, E.L.F. BEAUTY, Farmacy Beauty, Bespoke Beauty Brands , THE FACE SHOP, O Positiv, Bleu Beauty, and many more 💡 5 studios lit & filming (live and short-form) 💡 9+ hours of shoppable livestreams broadcasting during the event I believe the response was so strong because social commerce enables creators as independent business owners. They choose which brands are interesting to them, which revenue splits (affiliate fees) are worth their time. And creators have 100% executive control over the content they choose to produce for their own channels. The result is a mutual partnership between brand and creator. Thank you to all the brands and creators that joined us. Incredible work by the Orca team. I'm looking forward to many more!

    I'm beyond thrilled to welcome Sarah Penna and Khudor Annous to Orca. Sarah pioneered creator representation by building the first management company to exclusively represent digital talent. She ultimately co-founded Big Frame and successfully sold that business to AwesomenessTV / Dreamworks. Most recently she led creator partnerships for Patreon. I've known Sarah since the earliest days of YouTube and I couldn't imagine a better person to lead Orca's affiliate business as our new SVP, Creator Team. Similarly, I've known Khudor since his time at Fullscreen (and subsequent experience at LiveMe). He most recently served as SVP at BENlabs. The news around Khudor joining Orca as SVP, Client Success, broke on LinkedIn a little while ago but continues to deserve recognition now with the formal announcement. Sarah and Khudor bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that provides immeasurable value to our customers, our brand partners and to our 10,000-strong creator community. Welcome Sarah and Khudor!

    I'm thrilled to announce the launch of Orca's Bleu Beauty; a first-of-its-kind live & social beauty retailer. We're so fortunate to have Elena Severin overseeing the effort, bringing along her invaluable expertise in beauty retail and to have iconic investors like Toni Ko. Live & social shopping is just a more human experience than a typical ecommerce website. We compiled sales performance data for this story and uncovered some incredible insights; 🔑 Year-to-date, at Orca, we're driving 30.98% higher AOV through live & social (on TikTok Shop) than one of our brands sees on their DTC site (during the same timeframe, across the same product assortment) 🔑 Year-to-date, in just livestreams, one of our apparel brands drives 5x higher rate of conversion to purchase than the average Shopify site Recently, YouTube announced its Affiliate Tools are now open to all Shopify Plus & Advanced merchants. This means that we can now purchase some of the best products in the world while getting informed, entertained and interacting with our favorite creators on the largest content platform in the world. As these capabilities continue to roll out across all platforms, shopping will become more engaging, interactive and content-forward. Bleu Beauty is platform-agnostic and will publish shoppable content wherever the consumer is most comfortable spending their time. What separates Bleu Beauty from anything else out there is that it's aim is to be a complete shopping experience. Our hosts are informed, charismatic and a joy to spend time with (just like you'd expect when walking into a boutique on Melrose Place). And our product assortment is curated and trend-leading.
