Volunteer Spotlight: Julissa R. Today, we're shining a spotlight on Julissa Rivera, Community Investment Associate at The Miami Foundation wand a true champion for change. Julissa recently volunteered as a speaker at our April monthly PALP meeting for youth leaders, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. Julissa's passion for community investment and youth advocacy is truly inspiring. One of the calls we receive most is from parents not knowing how to report bullying and from students afraid of getting in trouble for stepping in or becoming a target if they do report it. We understand the concerns and the need for clear guidance. That’s why we're outlining the steps Broward County Public Schools has in place to support everyone in this process, ensuring safety and justice for all students. How You Can Be an Upstander: 👀 Witnessing Bullying? Take a stand. Let the person know it's not cool, and support the person being bullied. Show them they're not alone. 🤝 Offer Support: Sometimes, all it takes is a kind word, a listening ear, or walking with someone to make them feel safe.
