Have you checked in on your people lately? 🫶 Ahead of Mental Health Awareness Month last month, NTI surveyed a range of trucking professionals about what mental health programs and support systems currently exist in our industry, as well as areas for improvement. When asked about how openly their company talks about the importance of mental health and well-being, nearly 70% of survey respondents said “not at all.” We can and must do better by our people! Fleets often share that the fast-paced trucking environment can make it easy to overlook checking in on the team’s mental well-being. However, to foster a supportive work environment (and ultimately one where people want to stay), we must check in on our people, be understanding of their challenges, and work to find solutions to better support their mental health. Our employees are our most valuable resource, and their well-being is paramount. I encourage you to not limit conversations about mental health to just one month. Now that Mental Health Awareness Month has passed, you have the opportunity to make mental health a year-round priority with training and enrichment sessions for frontline workers, ample and readily available resources, and a culture of empathy, understanding, and support. In my most recent blog post, I discuss this further and share some helpful resources to get you started. 🔗 You can read it here: https://bit.ly/3Kwd7Wj #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealth #trucking #truckingindustry #nti

What’s the most common per-mile pay range for professional drivers? Just two years ago, in the spring of 2022, the most prevalent pay range was 40-50 cents per mile. According to the latest data from NTI’s National Survey of Driver Wages, there has been a notable upward shift in per-mile pay since then. Find out the most prevalent pay range and explore more trends from the current driver pay survey data at the link ⬇️ #driverpay #driverwages #drivers #trucking #truckingindustry #nti

This is now the longest ongoing freight recession that hasn't coincided with an economic recession, and many fleets remain in a holding pattern with pay until supply and demand dynamics change. My team and I have been hard at work examining the latest data from The National Transportation Institute's National Survey of Driver Wages. Here are three trends we’ve identified in the survey data and dive into in the NTI blog this week: ➡️ NTI data shows marginal per-mile pay increases from the same time a year ago for drivers across experience levels. ➡️ Likewise, while there is still movement in the common per-mile pay ranges for drivers, these changes have slowed and in some cases stalled. ➡️ Despite the subdued pay gains and challenging market conditions, however, indicators of recruiting activity have remained stable from a year ago, and sign-on and referral bonuses remain at or above where they were throughout the 2021-2022 driver hiring boom. Looking to dive deeper into driver pay trends and compare your fleet’s compensation package against specific competitors and the industry as a whole? Subscribing to NTI’s National Survey of Driver Wages gives you the power to do just that. 🔗 Contact our team today to learn more: https://bit.ly/3QQ2scR
