My team and I had our first ever summer BBQ outing last weekend. 🌟 Welcome to the team Maelah! Maelah Nadeau, M.S., CCC-SLP graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY with her Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. As an SLP at our Deerfield center, Maelah provides speech-language therapy services to children with a variety of complex communication needs. She enjoys working with children and their families to enhance participation in everyday settings. For Maelah, building rapport is the most rewarding part of the job. She enjoys making children feel comfortable and confident when trying new things. When Maelah is not at work, you can find her outside hiking, skiing, swimming; playing tennis, pickleball, or cribbage; or competing in any sort of lawn game activity. We are so happy to have you, Maelah!

For National Speech-Language_hearing Month, we are highlighting some of our Speech-Language Pathologists- Meet Ellie Gatz! Ellie is a American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Speech-Language Pathologist licensed in Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed her master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders at University of Northern Iowa in May 2022. Her approach is client-centered, strength-based and collaborative in nature. She prioritizes developing strong relationships with children and families to facilitate positive therapy outcomes. She loves empowering families and clients by building functional skills that give them confidence! #nationalspeechlanguagehearingmonth

This is the magic of working in an interdisciplinary environment and the learning and collaboration that makes our NSPT team special.
