Bowel problems are one of the biggest daily challenges faced by people living with SCI – about 75% report problems with bowel accidents. A new research study (https://lnkd.in/esa9SC4i ) is testing whether electrical stimulation of the skin in the pelvic area can reduce the reflexes that cause bowel accidents. You may qualify for this study if you have a trauma-induced SCI between cervical level 1 and thoracic level 12. Compensation for participation and assistance with travel to the research site is provided. For more information contact Dr. Kim Anderson at kxa304@case.edu or study coordinator Ashley Callaway at 216-957-3518 or acallaway@metrohealth.org .

The International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) Psychological Dataset Working Group is developing an international spinal cord injury/disorder (SCI/D) psychological functioning extended data set (PSYCHEDS) to assess factors relevant to psychological functioning after SCI/D. Your unique perspective and experience are invaluable in this process. Our long-term goal is to have an internationally informed, validated data set of psychological factors necessary to assess individuals with SCI/D, which can be used worldwide in clinical and research settings. We are writing to ask that you complete an online survey ranking various psychological domains in order of importance. The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and will be open until May 10, 2024. Your contribution will directly influence the development of this extended data set, assisting us in determining the most important psychological domains to include. Please follow this link to complete the survey: https://lnkd.in/d8v99sqV If you have any questions, please contact Tijn van Diemen (t.vandiemen@maartenskliniek.nl) or Kimberley Monden (kmonden@umn.edu). Thank you in advance for your time and input into this important data set.
