Noble Corporation announced today that we have entered into a definitive merger agreement to acquire Diamond Offshore in a stock plus cash transaction. Robert Eifler, Noble’s President and CEO commented, “This acquisition enables Noble to continue our journey of delivering superior innovation and value to a broad range of the leading offshore operators across the world. Our position will be strengthened with the addition of four 7th generation drillships and one of the most high-spec harsh environment semisubmersible rigs in the world." Murphy Oil Corporation has exercised their option for the Noble Stanley Lafosse to drill five additional wells in the Gulf of Mexico. This extension is expected to span one year and has an estimated contract value of $177 million. Included in this extension is an additional unpriced option for a further 5 wells. “The relationship with Murphy is incredibly valuable to Noble and we appreciate the trust they have placed in us by exercising an option for these important wells,” said Blake Denton, SVP of Marketing and Contracts.

#WorldEnvironmentDay is a perfect occasion to reflect on what each of us can do to contribute to a healthy planet. Noble did just that when we asked members of our team to share what they do on a personal level to benefit a more sustainable future. Maury Hebert, Senior Counsel for Operations, led a workplace initiative to provide reusable grocery bags and reduce dependance on single-use plastic. Megha Gupta, MBA, SHRM SCP, Senior Compensation Analyst, composts kitchen waste for use in her garden, bursting with dozens of vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. She’s continuing a family tradition of gardening and cultivating sustainable food. Mark Greig, Camp Boss on the Noble Developer, started an initiative to reuse towels and decrease water and electricity use, both limited commodities on an offshore rig. Soren Beck, Electronic Technician, advocates for choosing bicycles made from aluminum or titanium, both recyclable materials, to cut down on waste added to landfills. He’s proud of his nearly 30-year-old aluminum bike which only needed wheel replacement. Christine Wolf, External Communications Manager, volunteers on weekends to care for orphaned and injured wildlife at The Wildlife Center of Texas. Most issues for the animal patients there are a result of human-caused factors, and the goal is to heal and release the wildlife whenever possible. Noble’s Manila Delivery Center has collaborated with a local university to tackle food security and conservation in the Province of Pampanga through feeding programs and tree planting. Last year, they planted over 200 fruit-bearing tree seedlings in Mt. Arayat, Pampanga. When each of us uses our power to make a difference, imagine the impact we have collectively!
