Last month NextGroup was able to bring the amazing work of Beyond Barriers to our network through our session Unlock Career Momentum: Go Further Faster with guest speaker Brooke Skinner Ricketts. Like many of us during the pandemic, Brooke decided it was time to shake things up, and take the plunge to a new mission and career. After a 20-year corporate career and serving as a C-level executive for a publicly traded company, Brooke, along with her wife and two dear friends (all Fierce Women to be featured in their own right), launched Beyond Barriers. Their mission is clear and succinct - to close the gender gap at work by helping professional women go further, faster. During the workshop, Brooke shared the five keys to accelerating success for women based on the Beyond Barriers Accelerator Platform: - Power of Clarity - Power of Courage - Power of Conviction - Power of Commitment - Power of Community. Clearly, she has found these to be critical attributes to her own career success. But like all of us, she knows that we owe it to ourselves to continually invest in building these skills. That's why the Beyond Barriers approach, by combining research-based evaluation of the roadblocks corporate professionals women face with the skills, community, and coaching needed to create transformative change is such a winning recipe. If you are a bit awestruck at first by her accomplishments, I can assure you she's as authentic and genuine as any Fierce Woman we have met. She cares deeply about solving intractable problems and ensuring all women can give and get their very best from life and work. And as a mom of three, wife, corporate executive, and now entrepreneur, she knows we can't be perfect but we can strive for better every day!
