NextFlex's Deputy Director of Education and Workforce Development, Courtney Power, represented NextFlex and Boeing at Explora's Donor Societies Reception. Explora Science Center and Children's Museum, located in Albuquerque, NM, houses over 250 exhibit activities in science, technology, and art for families and people of all ages to learn from and enjoy. Through the generosity of Boeing, NextFlex Learning Programs collaborated with Explora to deploy its FlexFactor(R) and Flex2Future(TM) programs. Through these programs, Explora has connected over 400 students with insights into emerging technology and advanced manufacturing. NextFlex Learning Programs is proud to have been recognized as a partner and collaborator with this impactful organization. #flexfactor #flex2future #explora #manufacturing #technology #workforcedevelopment

Join James Rathburn Precision Circuit Technologies for a MEMBER ONLY Flexinar on July 31st! Flexible Hybrid Electronics and Additive Manufactured Electronics hold great promise and potential for leveraging the advantages of printed dielectrics and conductors. Several limitations in materials, deposition platforms, design and process methods have limited use to relatively simple demonstration vehicles and struggled to bridge the gap between the research lab science project and traditional printed circuit fabrication. Printed dielectrics have suffered from signal lossy materials that cannot withstand lead-free solder reflow, and particle-based inks remain poor conductors compared to bulk copper standards. Printing platforms are limited by the materials they can deposit, and most demonstrations are relatively low-layer count one-sided applications with fairly coarse geometries. Precision Circuit Technologies (PCT) will present an approach to additive manufacturing that leverages a Liquid Crystal Polymer AME-FHE base and the development of low-loss dielectric and particle fee metal inks along with printing platform refinements to achieve high layer count, double-sided circuit stacks that approach conventional laminated construction capabilities. Printing platform suppliers, ink formulators, and post-print processing equipment vendors have cooperated to further the goal of a "PCB Fab on a Desktop" to enable a user to print a complex, high-performance design quickly, test that design and refine performance to dramatically reduce the duration of iteration normally experienced with multiple design spins in a conventional PCB fabrication environment. We were honored to host a group from San Jose State University this week at NextFlex. As a new NextFlex member, they were eager to discuss opportunities to engage in technology development as well as in education and workforce development. As a key university in Silicon Valley, San Jose State University is working hard to prepare students for careers in STEM fields, including emerging technologies. The visit concluded with a tour of the NextFlex Technology Hub. Thanks for visiting! #manufacturing #technology #hybridelectronics #sjsu #sanjosestateuniversity #workforcedevelopment #education

Created in honor of the late Emily Stover DeRocco, the DeRocco Fellows is focused on preparing young women for careers in manufacturing. Register for this free 45-minute webinar to learn how the DeRocco Fellows can enhance your summer intern’s work experience with mentorship, professional development, and a community of like-minded women working in manufacturing. The DeRocco Fellows is a 501c3 non-profit and there is no cost to the intern or the employer for engaging as a DeRocco Fellow. Learn more about the program at DeRoccoFellows.org. The webinar will be held twice. You can register at DeRoccoFellows.org below for either session (Tuesday, July 30 at 11 a.m. ET or Monday, August 5 at 2 p.m. ET). #Manufacturing #womeninSTEM #STEM #workforcedevelopment
