We’re grateful to Law360 for publishing a column this week by New Era ADR Founder and Chairman Collin Williams, discussing an important case that significantly impacts businesses and workers involved in foreign or interstate commerce. “In March, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued its opinion in Ortiz v. XPO Logistics, Randstad Inhouse Services, LLC. As the case makes its way through the appeals process — and hopefully to the U.S. Supreme Court — it has the potential to clarify an age-old question about whether workers involved in foreign or interstate commerce are exempt from the Federal Arbitration Act,” Collin explains. There is a significant split among the Circuit Courts on this issue and the creation of a standardized test by the Supreme Court could alleviate a lot of the confusion.
New Era ADR
Software Development
Fast, efficient resolution of legal disputes with a finite, predictable process on a digital-native platform.
About us
Most legal disputes don't need the long, painfully distracting, and highly expensive litigation processes we've all just come to accept as "the way it is." In 99% of disputes, the people and organizations involved prefer to find a quick resolution rather than go through an endless fight. So, we rebuilt the entire experience from the ground up. New Era's reimagined and far more pragmatic arbitration rules, highly experienced arbitrators and mediators, and a digital-native, fully virtual dispute resolution platform, all work together to get you to legally enforceable resolutions in 60-100 days -- making the entire process up to 90% faster, cheaper, and far less acrimonious. New Era delivers accessibility and ease of use to *all* participants in a dispute and unprecedented risk reduction and cost certainty to organizations. Experience it now at www.neweraadr.com

We appreciate the opportunity that our Co-Founder and General Counsel, Shane William Mulrooney, had to contribute to the Daily Journal Corporation recently. In the article, “Shaping Tomorrow’s Dispute Resolution,” Shane addresses the “evolving landscape of alternative dispute resolution and the traditional court system,” both with their merits and challenges. He distinguishes the high-stakes disputes that benefit from their day in court versus those routine disputes where ADR can provide a more efficient path to resolution. In looking at the future of ADR, Shane writes, “In navigating the complexities of dispute resolution, it is essential to consider the evolving nature of ADR processes. Modern options prioritize speed and cost efficiency, making them well-suited for routine disputes. The overarching goal is to lower the temperature of litigation and foster constructive resolutions.” Thank you to the Daily Journal for publishing this important look at ADR! Compassion matters at work and in life. And it matters that much more for an organization on a mission to make dispute resolution accessible, pragmatic, and less acrimonious. Thank you to Exeleon Magazine for featuring our Co-Founder and VP, Operations R. Michelle Tyler, and her insightful column on compassion in leadership. At New Era ADR we transcend the conventional notion of #teamwork; we are a closely-knit group of seasoned tech and legal operators committed to leading with heart and compassion. Our culture thrives on solidarity and accountability, with each team member serving as a pillar of support for one another. Importantly, our company values are not mere words, they are deeply ingrained in everything we do – in how we work together, in how we build and design our products, and of course in how we approach dispute resolution. Whether in fostering great #leadership or navigating the mechanics of conflict resolution, #empathy and #compassion remain steadfast principles throughout. #CompassionateLeadership #ADR #legaltech https://lnkd.in/gXnaZbai
