The 2024 Solstice Solarbration event, hosted by our Lift As We Climb Foundation, took place last Thursday and was a tremendous success! We were joined by friends and fellow solar professionals to raise money in support of the Footprint Project. The night was filled with fun, food, and drinks at the beautiful Como Zoo and Conservatory. To add to this wonderful night, we surpassed our goal of $5,000 by raising over $7,000! The funds raised at the Solarbration along with our previous donation of $12,000 will go to the Footprint Projects initiatives to #BuildBackGreener. Some of these initiatives include: - Procurement and pre-positioning of solar-powered atmospheric water generators for hurricane/wildfire response this year. - Installation of transfer switches on rural Florida health clinics (a transfer switch allows buildings to safely plug into mobile solar when the grid's down). - Free training for disaster responders on renewable technologies for their relief operations. - Keeping the 10+ community resilience hubs we're powering on Maui up through the long haul of recovery and rebuild. We are honored to be able to support amazing organizations like the Footprint Project through our Lift As We Climb Foundation! Special thanks to all of our sponsors for helping us achieve this goal in support of a wonderful cause.

Globally, solar panel prices have hit all-time lows due to oversupply and manufacturing efficiency improvements. However, in the U.S., prices remain higher, largely due to tariffs on Chinese panels. US Government trade policies, aiming to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports, continue to have an impact on the #solar industry. The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) has launched a tracker showing that eight states and several utilities in the U.S. now mandate smart inverters for new distributed solar and storage installations. These inverters regulate voltage on distribution circuits, allowing more solar capacity without additional utility hardware. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eF2k__eD 📰 PV Magazine

#Juneteenth is more than just a celebration of freedom; it is a day of reflection on the ongoing struggles for equality and justice. It serves as a reminder of the resilience and enduring spirit of African Americans and underscores the importance of education and awareness in fostering an inclusive society. New Energy Equity believes in celebrating diversity and supporting our community. Our teams commemorated Juneteenth by supporting local black-owned restaurants for a special catered luncheon at each of our offices. During the luncheon, we learned about the history of Juneteenth as well as how we can take action to uphold the importance of the day. Here are a few ways you can get involved Juneteenth and beyond: Learn and Educate Support Black-Owned Businesses Participate in Community Events Reflect and Engage
