Earlier today, a new interim update to the ongoing phase 1/2 trials (NCT0543017; NCT04120493) assessing uniQure’s investigational gene therapy AMT-130 showed that treatment with high doses of the agent resulted in significant slowing of disease progression and lowering of neurofilament light in patients with Huntington disease. Fab to hear Dr Agne Straukiene talk about practical ways that healthcare professionals can bring discussions about #lifestyle choice and its impact on #MS into clinical practice. Time constraints are real, yet she suggests even adding a sentence or two into a consultation, or working across the whole multidisciplinary team, can have an impact. I'd add that collaborating beyond the NHS, with local communities and voluntary sector organisations, can make that sentence or two go much further if it's signposting onto somewhere that individual can find more support outside of those time constraints. Great to see this paper continue to get noticed too - such an important review of the current evidence for lifestyle factors and holistic management in #MS. #collaboration #voluntarysectorsupport #healthylifestyle #brainhealth
