The Bridges of Self-Sufficiency Program (BOSS) just completed the 2nd learning session of the year! The learning session focused on food and pantry preparedness, featuring the renowned expert Leisa Sutton from Sutton's Daze. Leisa's expertise in food preservation and sustainability provided our participants with essential knowledge and hands-on experience. During the session, Leisa demonstrated how to can chicken safely and efficiently, highlighting crucial food safety practices. Participants learned about the importance of food sustainability and how these practices contribute to a self-sufficient lifestyle. This session is part of our ongoing commitment to empowering individuals and families on their journey to self-sufficiency. We are proud to provide the resources and support needed to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable living. Families left with food items to help stock their pantries, canning supplies, and the confidence to use their new skills at home. **This project was supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number SLFRF4951 awarded to The State of Michigan by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Through the unwavering support of NEMCSA's School Success Program, this student received a crucial ADHD diagnosis and the help they needed.
