Improving the health of our communities by the way we care, educate and innovate at our hospitals, clinics and college.
About us
Our mission is simple: improving the health of our communities by the way we care, educate and innovate. Formed in 1982 as the area’s first integrated health system, we set out to establish a level of care and quality that is second to none. Methodist Health System includes four hospitals, the region’s only campus dedicated to women’s health, over 800 licensed beds, over 1,000 physicians and nearly more than 30 clinic locations with over 25 specialties across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. We’re also proud to serve our communities with a nursing and allied health college, a medical supply distributorship, and a central laundry that serves health care systems in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. All of Methodist’s 8,000-plus employees exemplify The Meaning of Care through their commitment to compassion and our core values. At Methodist, we value diversity, respect and excellence in all aspects of care. Learn how you can bring The Meaning of Care to life at https://bestcare.org/jobs.

Since last year, Methodist head and neck surgical oncologists Andrew Holcomb, MD, and Aru Panwar, MD, as well as radiation oncologists Tien-Shew (Bill) Huang, MD and Ming-yang Hung, MD, have been making weekly trips to Methodist Fremont Health to see patients. One goal of extending into the Fremont community is to reach patients who have obstacles getting to Omaha and may seek treatment elsewhere. And providing patients with options of where to receive their care can enhance overall outcomes. “Patients have to make decisions about cancer care, and medical care in general, in the context of the rest of their life,” Dr. Holcomb said. Patients who live in Fremont and other rural communities west and north of Omaha don’t have to worry about always driving into the city for more advanced care. “Not only do you have options, but it’s a huge convenience factor to be able to receive care locally,” said Scott Doty of Fremont. https://lnkd.in/gThkRaT9
