We have been so honored to work with Kering for many years, as well as the brand Permu, and we absolutely LOVE this collaboration with them and our BioBlack pigments. Permu has really elevated what can be done with BioBlack. They used the idea and practice that pigment is the clothing itself, a liquid garment. That's it. It's so cool, we love it. For the Pitti Immagine S|Style Show.

Driving Change for a Sustainable Tomorrow | Sharing Impactful Startup & Research Stories | TU Delft | University of Twente | IIT Bombay
How This Startup is Turning Wood Waste into Eco-Friendly Pigments ! Synthetic dyes often contain hazardous chemicals. Carbon black is one of the most widely used pigments for black coloring. 1 Ton of carbon black pigment produces approximately 3.3 ton of CO2 emissions. The pigment also contains carcinogens called Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). But there is a way to find a more sustainable and safer alternative to carbon black. Meet Nature Coatings, a startup that produces bio-based pigments from wood waste. Their flagship product, BioBlack TX, is a 100% bio-based, non-toxic, and carbon-negative replacement for carbon black. BioBlack TX has a net negative (-0.60 KG CO2 e) carbon footprint. As per the thrid party verified analysis, BioBlack TX has an 85% lower carbon footprint compared to petroleum derived alternatives. If the BioBlack pigment replaces all the carbon black used: we can reduce 4.62 millions ton of CO2 per year. It’s the equivalent of a car driving around the Earth circumference more than 100,000 times. By turning wood waste into eco-friendly pigments, they are not only solving a major problem in the industry, but also creating a new opportunity for circular economy and green chemistry. Exciting that Nature Coatings is listed on TIME Magazine's top greentech companies in the US! We work so hard to be data driven and not greenwash. It's part of our values to be transparent, and we strive to be the cleanest and best pigment on the market. It feels good to be recognized for that work! https://lnkd.in/gfp3a6G2

So excited to be part of this collection titled Everloop, debuting at the Première Vision trade show in Paris next week. Everything Irene M. from PDS Ventures says we agree with-- the future of textile materials and science is here and now. There are ripe technologies that can be adopted TODAY, including ours, that will make a difference for our planet and health. Also, there is no one silver bullet technology. The way to get to climate neutral garments is by combining technologies. Even the smallest details will contribute to the greater whole. https://lnkd.in/d7XRXz59
