An NIA-funded study found that food insecurity in families with adults over age 60 has doubled over the past 20 years and affects almost 25% of these families. The results found that Black, Hispanic, and low-income families were disproportionately affected by chronic and recurring food insecurity. NIA is proud to support the 31st Annual Summer Training Course in Experimental Aging Research. The application deadline for this year’s course is Monday, July 8, 2024. This course is an excellent career development opportunity for junior faculty and advanced fellows with at least two years of postdoctoral experience. It is also open to senior scientists who are just entering the field of aging research and want to gain more experience. This year, the course will be held at the Healthy Aging and Longevity Institute (HALO) at the University of Washington in Seattle from September 8-13, 2024.
