About us
The National Assessment Governing Board sets policy for The Nation’s Report Card, also known as the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) – the country’s most respected representative measurement of student achievement. NAEP provides results for grades 4, 8, and 12 in nearly a dozen subjects, with some that have data available by state and large urban district. Visit: www.nationsreportcard.gov The Board is made up of 26 members appointed for 4-year terms by the U.S. Secretary of Education and includes local and state educators and policymakers, testing and measurement experts, curriculum specialists, business leaders and general public representatives. These members are highly qualified and respected experts and practitioners in their fields.

We’re looking to hire a senior staffer to serve as the Board's principal advisor on federal, state and district policy impacting #NAEP and as primary Board staff liaison to Congressional staff, state education agency leaders, and school district leaders. This Education Policy Analyst's duties will also include: • Serving as Board staff advisor on the NAEP Authorization Act, advising Board leadership when questions arise related to the legislation, tracking Board recommendations for updates for the NAEP law and supporting communications with #Congress regarding questions on the NAEP law. • Monitoring and responding, as needed, to changes in the assessment landscape at the federal and state level that may impact NAEP and for which the Board has responsibility. • Tracking key themes, deliverables and action items from each Board meeting, including reviewing meeting transcripts to confirm accuracy, tracking Board requests for follow up from National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) or Board staff, and identifying topics that require updates or discussion at future meetings. • Maintaining collaborative, productive partnerships with the Council of Chief State School Officers and the Council of the Great City Schools to ensure that the Board's state and TUDA policy task forces are substantially engaged and help the Board understand how critical stakeholders view and use NAEP. *This role is telework eligible.* More information about this role and how to apply here: ➡ https://lnkd.in/egQa7s2t Current federal employees can apply here: ➡ https://lnkd.in/eh65bTpK #policyjobs #dcjobs
