We are thrilled to announce that the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) will expand its ongoing initiative in the #earlydetection of #wildfires and #airqualitymonitoring, with new deployments of N5SHIELD®, our environmental sensors with AI, to include an additional 500,000 acres of coverage in North America. N5 will exclusively provide sensors to communities in Hawaii, California, Colorado, Tennessee and Canada, expanding the network that has been growing since 2022.
Mr. Jeffery Booth, the Director of the Sensors & Platforms Technology Center, DHS S&T, says, “DHS has been working with N5 Sensors since 2019 to develop, field test and validate an innovative approach to early-stage detection of wildfires, knowing the limitations of traditional satellite and optical detection. This new agreement expands field operational testing of N5SHIELD® ground-based sensors with AI, with key stakeholders in regions of high risks to wildfire.”
N5SHIELD® combines leading-edge chemical, thermal and particulate sensors with advanced, cloud-based AI to detect fire in its nascent stage, not yet visible to camera and satellite imagery. The significance of early detection of fire ignition cannot be overstated. Timely and accurate detection is not merely a technological achievement; it is a crucial step towards mitigating the loss of property, safeguarding human, and animal life, and preserving the environment.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with DHS Science & Technology Directorate for this timely deployment and their ongoing support.” says Abhishek Motayed, CEO, N5 Sensors.
