Munger, Tolles & Olson joins the world in celebrating the life of baseball legend, Willie Mays, who passed away last month at the age of 93. MTO is proud of its long-standing relationships with Willie, his Say Hey Foundation and the San Francisco Giants organization. This past Monday, a celebration of life was held for Willie at Oracle Park and broadcast live nationwide. The event featured tributes from President Clinton and Obama as well as from MTO alum Jeffrey Bleich and MTO Co-Managing Partner Malcolm Heinicke, who also serves as a board member of the Say Hey Foundation. On June 28, 2024, a Munger, Tolles & Olson appellate team secured a significant appellate victory when the Delaware Supreme Court overturned a lower court decision that invalidated the State's permanent absentee and early voting laws. Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Daniel Levin spoke to Law360 about how the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Snyder v. U.S. narrows the scope of a federal bribery law, and how it could affect future public corruption cases in an article titled, “Supreme Court Bribery Ruling Limits Government's ‘Arsenal.’” Mr. Levin, a seasoned litigator and former deputy chief of criminal appeals in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, told Law360 that many public corruption cases take the form of gratuity-type corruption, where payments are made after the fact.
