About us

We specialize in underground utility installation including water, sewer, storm drainage, duct bank, and fire lines. Our project capabilities and experience include commercial, single-family residential, multi-family residential, and public works infrastructure projects all over the DFW Metroplex. The Moss family has a legacy in the utility construction industry here in Dallas-Fort Worth dating back to the early 1900's. In 2016, Garrett Moss, fifth generation in the business, decided to start Moss Utilities with the goal of creating a company that fosters both personal and professional growth of our employees and treats both customers and employees like family. We intend to continue the Moss legacy of excellent workmanship, a passion for our industry, and honor and integrity in the way we do business. The Moss family has always been proud of our history, reputation, and loyalty to our friends, family, coworkers, employees, vendors, and suppliers. We will be there for our customers and employees when they need us. We understand the need in today's world to create and foster long and mutually beneficial relationships with our customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. This is an "old school" mentality which can still be executed today more than ever. Please email us or give us a call today. We would love a chance to show you what we can do and earn your business and friendship as well. We strive to exceed the needs of our customers and we pride ourselves on the quality of our work. Our team is built with experience and knowledge, but most importantly we have a passion to excel at our trade every day.

We believe that when we support their well-being, they'll give their best effort and help the company thrive. Leaders like Shawn Lain, Bryan Peters, John Moss, and Kyle Hougendobler exemplify the positive impact a healthy lifestyle can have on both workplace performance and personal well-being. This Independence Day, we celebrate the resilience, innovation, and hard work of the men and women who've made America a leader for nearly 250 years. Their spirit is the driving force behind our great nation! 🇺🇸 With that in mind, we're proud to unveil our newly branded Link-Belt 750 X4 Excavator (LBX Company), thanks to Bane Machinery, Inc.! This powerful machine will be a familiar sight on the Dallas North Tollway, laying the foundation for future theme parks, entertainment districts, grocery stores, and more. Moss is excited to be part of the most high-profile projects in America's fastest-growing metroplex! "Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country." - John F. Kennedy

Yesterday afternoon, we had not one, but BOTH of our Moss companies represented at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce State of the City Luncheon! We had the honor of joining over 500 of Frisco’s top leaders and listen to Mayor Jeff Cheney speak about the incredible developments coming to our North Dallas community-many of which we have been a part of. Great things are coming to Frisco, and we are ready and excited to grow alongside the city! We have completed tons of projects in Frisco including currently being involved in major developers at Universal Studios and Firefly Park.

There’s one truth I know to be certain. The only thing that separates you from the person you are today and the person you want to be is the information that you take in (books, podcasts) and the people you spend time with. When I was starting out in my career, I didn’t have access to professional, career driven women. So I took in information. I read books, I listened to podcasts and I kept searching for women I wanted in my circle. When the idea came to start a podcast, I knew immediately what I wanted to share with the world. Selfishly, I wanted a platform that allowed me access to smart women, so I could learn as much as I could from them. Unselfishly, I wanted to provide a platform that gave that same access to everyone else. Whether you’re a girl dad, older brother, career woman, or stay-at-home Mom, I’m hoping these stories inspire confidence that the women in your life can have it all. They can be Mom’s, CEO’s, even argue cases in the supreme court. The Pressure Tested Podcast is now live on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. This has been the ultimate passion project for me! Big shoutout to Garrett Moss for always seeing the potential in even my craziest ideas! Logo and branding by the extremely talented Jill Parsons! David Kennedy you are the best podcast producer ever! Thanks for helping get this whole project off the ground!

We understand the importance of having a strong, in-house concrete team to support our pipe crews and customers. That's why we promoted Shane Ivy to Division Manager, to lead our concrete crews. Like his favorite football player Jason Witten, Shane recognizes the importance of communication out in the field and visits his crews often, to see the progress being made. Check out this video of Shane visiting foreman Antonio Campo and his crew, at Sanger ISD working on a job for POGUE CONSTRUCTION.

As we close out Construction Safety Week, we want to acknowledge the significant progress our safety team has made this past year. Building a culture of trust and integrity within our business is paramount, not only to the success of our company but also to the well-being of our people. In the past year, we have promoted Julio Yglesias SSH, CSHO, SHEP, WSO-CST to lead our safety team. We've also seen tremendous growth from Angel Tavera, whose effective communication out in the field has fueled his professional growth. Additionally, we've welcomed three new team members to support our incredible safety department and we brought our safety training in-house! Check out our video below, which showcases a behind-the-scenes look at our safety culture in action through a training session.
