July is NRPA’s Park and Recreation Month, and there's no better time to recognize the essential role parks play in our communities, especially for marginalized groups. Parks are more than just green spaces; they are places of inclusion, healing, and community building. Promoting Physical and Mental Health: For many marginalized communities, access to healthcare can be limited. Parks provide free, accessible spaces for physical activity, which is crucial for maintaining health. They also offer a serene environment for mental relaxation, which is vital in reducing stress and anxiety, especially for those facing systemic challenges. Fostering Social Connections: Parks serve as gathering spots where people can meet and interact, breaking down social barriers. Community events and programs hosted in parks create opportunities for marginalized groups to connect, share experiences, and build supportive networks. Encouraging Youth Engagement: For young people in underserved communities, parks are safe spaces where they can engage in positive activities, learn new skills, and stay away from harmful environments. Access to recreational programs and sports can be life-changing, offering pathways to personal growth and future opportunities. Cultural Expression and Identity: Parks often host cultural events and festivals that celebrate diverse heritages and traditions. These events provide marginalized communities with a platform to express their cultural identities, fostering a sense of pride and belonging. As we celebrate Park and Recreation Month, let's acknowledge the significant impact parks have on enhancing the quality of life for all, especially those who need it most. Together, let's continue to support and advocate for inclusive, accessible, and vibrant parks in every community. #mmcité #mmcitéstreetfurniture #mmcitédesign #streetfurniture #streetscape #outdoorfurniture #design #publicspace #publicrealm #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #landarch #outdoordesign #urbandesign #urbanfurniture #urbanelements #urbanism #urbanisme #urbanist #urbanplanning #urbanlife #architectural #architecture #citylife #city #park #urban #whereyoubelong

July is Park and Recreation Month, and there's no better time to explore the incredible mental health benefits of spending time in your local parks. As we celebrate with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), let's delve into how these green spaces can positively impact your well-being. Firstly, visiting local parks can significantly reduce stress. The natural environment provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The sights, sounds, and smells of nature can lower cortisol levels, helping you to feel more relaxed and at ease. Whether it's a quiet walk, a run, or simply sitting and enjoying the scenery, parks offer a serene setting to unwind and rejuvenate. Moreover, spending time in parks can boost your mood and overall happiness. Exposure to sunlight increases the production of serotonin, a hormone that enhances mood and promotes feelings of well-being. Engaging in physical activities like walking, jogging, or playing sports releases endorphins, which act as natural mood lifters. These activities not only improve physical health but also contribute to emotional resilience and mental clarity. Local parks also foster social connections, which are vital for mental health. They serve as community hubs where people of all ages can gather, interact, and form meaningful relationships. Socializing in a relaxed outdoor environment can alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation, providing a sense of belonging and support. Celebrate Park and Recreation Month by visiting your local parks. Embrace the mental health benefits they offer and take a step towards a happier, healthier you. #mmcité #mmcitéstreetfurniture #mmcitédesign #streetfurniture #streetscape #outdoorfurniture #design #publicspace #publicrealm #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #landarch #outdoordesign #urbandesign #urbanfurniture #urbanelements #urbanism #urbanisme #urbanist #urbanplanning #urbanlife #architectural #architecture #citylife #city #park #urban

We are thrilled to announce all products made with Jatoba come with FSC 100% certification at no additional cost. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability. FSC, or the Forest Stewardship Council, is an international non-profit organization that provides a chain of custody document for wood resources. By choosing FSC 100% certified Jatoba wood, we ensure that every piece of wood we use comes from forests that meet the highest environmental and social standards. This transition to FSC 100% certified Jatoba wood brings numerous benefits: Added Value: We absorb the fees associated with FSC certification for all public & private projects. We are financially committed. Environmental Protection: FSC certification helps protect forests and wildlife by promoting sustainable logging practices that maintain biodiversity, reduce deforestation, and preserve natural habitats. Social Responsibility: FSC standards include respect for the rights of indigenous peoples and workers. By using FSC 100%-certified wood, we support fair wages, safe working conditions, and community well-being. Consumer Assurance: FSC certification provides a trustworthy label for consumers who care about the origin of the products they buy. It guarantees that our wood products are both eco-friendly and socially responsible. At mmcité, we believe in creating products that are not only beautiful and durable but also kind to our planet. By integrating FSC 100% certified wood into our production process, we are taking a significant step towards a more sustainable future. Thank you for supporting our journey towards environmental stewardship and responsible design. #mmcitéstreetfurniture #mmcitédesign #streetfurniture #streetscape #outdoorfurniture #design #publicspace #publicrealm #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #landarch #outdoordesign #urbandesign #urbanfurniture #urbanelements #urbanism #urbanisme #urbanist #urbanplanning #urbanlife #architectural #architecture #citylife #city #park #urban #fsc #sustainability

As we celebrate Park and Recreation Month with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), it's an excellent time to recognize our local parks' profound economic impact on communities. Parks and recreational spaces are often viewed as areas for leisure and outdoor activities, but their contributions to local economies are substantial and multifaceted. Local parks stimulate economic growth in various ways. Firstly, they increase property values. Homes and businesses near well-maintained parks are more desirable, leading to higher real estate values and increased tax revenues for municipalities. Studies have shown that proximity to parks can boost property values by as much as 20%. This not only benefits homeowners but also strengthens the financial foundation of the entire community. Moreover, parks attract tourists and visitors, which fuels local businesses. Whether it’s a family picnic, a weekend soccer tournament, or a seasonal festival, parks draw people from both near and far. This influx of visitors spends money at local restaurants, shops, and hotels, creating a ripple effect that supports jobs and stimulates the local economy. Investing in parks is an investment in the community's future. They provide a space for social interaction, physical activity, and environmental education, all of which contribute to a more vibrant, connected, and economically stable community. As we celebrate Park and Recreation Month, let’s take a moment to appreciate not just the beauty and recreational opportunities our parks offer, but also their significant economic contributions that help build stronger, more prosperous communities for all. #mmcité #mmcitéstreetfurniture #mmcitédesign #streetfurniture #streetscape #outdoorfurniture #design #publicspace #publicrealm #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #landarch #outdoordesign #urbandesign #urbanfurniture #urbanelements #urbanism #urbanisme #urbanist #urbanplanning #urbanlife #architectural #architecture #citylife #city #park #urban #whereyoubelong #nrpa

Are you a Landscape Architect in need of some continuing education credits? Did you know that @mmcite_usa now offers two different LA CES accredited courses? Our first offering is Public Furniture & Sustainable Materials. Sustainability is THE word for this generation of designers. In this CEU, we provide designers with current data related to materials and their characteristics, limitations, and the degree to which they are sustainable. Simply put, this CEU helps designers specify the appropriate materials and recognize how those choices relate to sustaining natural global resources. Our second offering is INCLUSIVITY: People, Public Furniture, & Public Space. The precise intersection of public spaces and people lies in public furniture. Each piece, whether a transit shelter, park bench, or plaza table, is designed for people in the public realm, aiming to include every citizen. In this class, we aim to broaden the understanding of inclusivity within this exact intersection. Public furniture is intended to serve everyone, reflecting the grand idea behind inclusivity, and emphasizing the importance of considering it for creating better public spaces. Both are LA CES accredited. Each are 1 PDH (Personal Development Hour) and classified as HSW (Health, Safety, & Welfare) credits. Message us for more information. #mmcité #mmcitéstreetfurniture #mmcitédesign #streetfurniture #outdoorfurniture #publicspace #publicrealm #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #landarch #outdoordesign #urbandesign #urbanfurniture #urbanelements #urbanism #urbanist #urbanplanning #urbanlife #architecture #park #urban #ceu #continuingeducation #education

Stunning location!
