We served over 80 #veterans and their families at our annual Bikes for Stripes event last week. This is such a wonderful event every year. A great opportunity to partner with other local organizations, offering a variety of resources to the #vets in our #community. The Milwaukee Homeless Veteran Initiative provides the services that homeless and at-risk veterans need to reach and maintain their highest level of independence. Founded and run by veterans, we offer unique programs to fill the gaps and don't duplicate what others do. When possible, we partner with the Veterans Administration, Wis. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, County Veterans Service Officers, and other non-profit agencies. Since 2008 we have served thousands of veterans and their families in Southeastern Wisconsin. We don't leave our wounded behind.

What is Bikes for Stripes? It’s one of our programs at #MHVI. We provide gently used (donated) bikes to veterans and their children. Our #partner, the West Allis Rotary Club, has #volunteers who come and tune the bikes up. These bikes may be the only accessible & affordable mode of transportation for some of the #veterans we serve. #ServingOurVeterans #Gratitude
