Strengthening the capability of member municipalities to make Midcoast Maine a better place to live, work, and play.
About us
Midcoast Council of Governments (MCOG) is a nonprofit, municipally-driven regional planning and economic development district encompassing 66 communities in the Midcoast region. We receive funding from the local municipalities (dues), state, and federal governments to assist communities with their planning and economic development needs. MCOG evolved out of Midcoast regional planning commission, MCEDD, and the Bath-Brunswick-Topsham Development Corporation serving Midcoast Maine since the 1990s.

We are proud to spotlight our Survey-Geomatics Team's impactful work in honor of National Surveyors Week! Since early 2023, Sebago Technics has partnered with the Town of St. George, Maine, to tackle rising sea levels head-on. Using cutting-edge survey-geomatic and 3D modeling technology alongside community engagement, we're creating a unique model to safeguard both infrastructure and St. George's heritage. Our approach goes beyond data collection; it's about empowering engineers with risk-free mitigation strategies and involving the community every step of the way. From engaging young generations, to creating virtual reality experiences, we're making sea level rise personal and actionable for all. Thanks to support from the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future (GOPIF) and our consortium, this project is paving the way for resilient coastal communities. Together, we're shaping a sustainable future, blending technology with community-driven solutions in the face of climate change. https://lnkd.in/ePNjnPfq SEARCH VCTO Labs LLC Gulf of Maine Research Institute Midcoast Council of Governments Colby College #NationalSurveyorsWeek #CoastalResiliency #ClimateChange #ShapingTogether #Maine
