We opened last April with 25 startups, and since then, we have grown into a thriving community of 106 member startups and their 673 employees and founders in the fields of mobility, transportation, logistics, climate tech and more. The technology of tomorrow is being created right now, right here in Detroit! “This is proof of the power and potential of the economic engine that we are building here in Detroit, and the realization of Bill Ford and Ford Motor Co.’s vision to create an open platform ecosystem that draws on our region’s incredible talent and legacy of innovation to help solve many of the world’s challenges,” said Josh Sirefman, CEO of Michigan Central. Michigan Central is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the Michigan Mobility Fellow Program (MMF), a first-of-its-kind initiative to support mobility innovation and talent attraction and retention in the state by offering real-world experience, a $60,000 annual salary, and professional development opportunities. The program is made possible through the State of Michigan, Michigan Central, Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM) and a partnership with Wayne State University as part of their shared goal of re-establishing the state as a global leader in mobility and technology innovation. “The success of our region’s mobility sector relies on retaining and attracting talent from local and national universities,” said Clarinda Barnett-Harrison, Director of Skills at Michigan Central. “Michigan Central is committed to supporting and developing this ecosystem with robust partnerships, including with the State of Michigan so that entrepreneurs can sustain and grow their businesses in Detroit and the surrounding area.” Applications close at 11:59 p.m. on July 22, 2024. Tours are self-guides and involve a lot of walking and standing, with limited bench seating available. Most visitors spend an average of one-hour inside The Station.
