Making Michigan the No. 1 state for girls and women in technology! Join us in inspiring and growing women in tech.
About us
Our vision is to make Michigan the No.1 state for women in technology. Michigan’s IT workforce is growing, and there’s a compelling business case for ensuring companies hire and retain diverse employees to fuel innovation. MCWT Foundation’s 130-plus partner companies help fund programs that support this cause. Everything we do centers on inspiring and growing girls and women in technology. We work to broadly reach young girls to get them to consider technology and deeply connect with women who choose the tech path. We spark young girls' interest in tech through robotics grants, coding and website competitions, and summer technology camps. Our 700-plus members stay engaged through eLearning, professional development events, networking and mentoring programs. This work allows us to create a steady stream of women ready to enter the technology workforce, and we support them throughout their professional lives. Partner funding, a small staff, and more than 300 volunteers have enabled us to bring resources to more areas of the state, replicate our summer technology camps and grow our programs. We convene a network of stakeholders—teachers, parents, students, businesses, professionals and retirees—who are committed to seeing Michigan's tech community thrive. Support us in our mission by volunteering, donating, or becoming a partner, or joining our membership. Stay connected here and on our members-only LinkedIn group and Facebook page, facebook.com/MCWTFoundation. This is by far one of my favorite #MCWT events. I am inspired by the youth and can only hope they were inspired by us as well. Proud that #Ford was a sponsor for this great #CampInfinity.
MCWT Camp Infinity - Ford Day 2024 It was such a rewarding experience and an honor to lead Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) Camp Infinity - "Ford Day" for the third year. Ford was the premier sponsor this year and we ensured the young campers at WCCC Campus had a full experience with an IT Professional panel discussion, Mentorship during lunch, Demo and Vehicle Display with F150 Lightning, Mache, and Lincoln brands. Big appreciation and thank you to the Directors of the program, WCCC Dean, Halima Mohiuddin FIN, MIS, HCMGT and to all the Ford volunteers who supported this year Asha Carvalho, Cynthia Gumbs, Kenya J., Kiara Hargrove, Susan Schmitt-Creech, MS, Tracy Ball, Charles Denard II, Kevin Bartholomew and many others who helped to make this year a success! #mcwt #campinfinity #fordday #STEM #stemcareers #weareford

There are profound reasons why the amazing AnitaB.org has named its annual celebration of #womenintech after Admiral #GraceHopper. For those among us who may have forgotten the admiral's inspiring legacy, please read it here: https://lnkd.in/gUEP4ddw #girlsintech, #womentechleaders, #womenleaders, #queensofcode

Dear Girls in Tech Community, It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Girls in Tech. For 17 years, we have empowered and inspired women in tech, working tirelessly to eliminate the gender gap. Together, we’ve reached over 250,000 people across 35 chapters in 30 countries. Girls in Tech has always been more than an organization—it’s a community built on love and passion for technology. I am immensely proud of what we’ve built together and the lasting impact we’ve made. Thank you to our members, Managing Directors, Advisory Board teams, headquarters staff, sponsors, and board of directors. Though we’re closing, our mission will live on through your continued efforts. With love and gratitude, Adriana Gascoigne CEO and Founder, Girls in Tech #GirlsInTech #WomenInTech #Farewell

#Leaders, #womenleaders, #maleallies: Want to encourage more women to join, stay, and rise in the #workforce? Indeed recommends that we, all, "make it easier for them to show up" (and contribute). Pragmatic advice, based on research, here: https://lnkd.in/exxRhZB6?

Congratulations to Ford Credit's leader and Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) long-time advocate Gargi Shah for winning the #WomenofColor #TechnologyAllStar award. Among many other reasons for #allies to support the mission of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT), correcting the #paygap (#compensationinequality) is one of the primary ones. On average, women continue to make a fraction of what men are paid for the same (or similar) roles. #Technologyleadership, #technologytraining and more can help correct the unfair #paydisparity. https://lnkd.in/gXsQ9eUu
