So grateful to Edward Gunts @ The Fishbowl for the extra time he spent on this article to capture the spirit of MCB's June 2024 event and to provide a more complete accounting of the impact of Enolia McMillan on the trajectory of Morgan State University and Maryland. It was a special day, and we are grateful to Dr. McMillan's family for being willing to so generously share her story.

Today, the 45th District celebrated the naming of a brand new Morgan State student housing project on Harford Rd. MCB Real Estate, Morgan State University, State of Maryland and many other partners have named the student community "The Enolia" after legendary Baltimore educator and Civil Rights leader Enolia P. McMillan. It's fitting that a woman who spent her career serving and championing Morgan would find her name on a building. This project is exciting and an inspiring tribute to Mrs. McMillan's legacy! All present signed beams consistent with her call to "make your mark!"

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made today’s topping out and naming ceremony for *The Enolia* such a success! Named after Baltimore civil rights pioneer Enolia Pettigen McMillan, the property celebration featured a spectacular lineup of speakers including David Wilson, president of Morgan State University, Dr. Tiffany Mfume, granddaughter of Enolia, and MCB's own P. David Bramble. We also enjoyed inspirational remarks from Julia Glanz, Rich Hunt, Monica Mitchell, Jacqueline Lawson and Daniel Doty. The 151-unit multifamily project will ultimately be home to 473 Morgan students, each one with the capacity to be difference maker and disruptor for future generations- much Enolia P. McMillan herself. A special thanks to Morgan State University, Wells Fargo Foundation, WesBanco, Hamilton-Lauraville Main Street, and Gov. Wes Moore’s office. A huge shout out to the strength, adaptability, and ingenuity demonstrated by Amy Bonitz, Kafayat (Reni) Lawal Daniel Rigaux, Tyler Grau, Patrick Reid, LEED AP, Brendan Harman, Ryan Bailey, Carolyn Robinson-Owens, James Bowman, CPA, MBA, Kristen Durkin, Jarnell Swecker and the rest of our hardworking project team and partners. Your attention to detail and dedication have brought us to this milestone. We are halfway there on our quest to deliver this building in Summer 2025!

MCB is not just about buildings and investments, but people and the areas they call home. Recently, our team spent the day in South Baltimore's Sharp-Leadenhall community to beautify the Solo Gibbs Park. Built in 1979 when I-395 was built, the park commemorates Solomon "Solo" Gibbs, a remarkable Charm City figure who dedicated his life to supporting local kids. And just like Gibbs supported at risk youth who may have been overlooked or marginalized, MCB will continue to focus on the areas that others pass by and seek out the spaces and places that can bring communities closer. #mcb #mcbrealestate #baltimore #cre #commercialrealestate #commercialdevelopment #commercialretail #givingback #communityinvolvement #community #sharpleadenhall #volunteer

So happy to see P. David Bramble and Peter Pinkard enthusiastically jump in the harbor Sunday morning at Bond Street Wharf to celebrate the progress being made in making Baltimore's harbor clean for swimming and water-based recreation. This was a full circle moment for me since I was the Development Director for Bond Street Wharf. Back then Bill Struever helped launch the Canton Kayak Club and we worked with then Deputy Mayor Kirby Fowler and Andy Frank and Kimberly Clark at BDC to build the promenade that connects Fells Point to Harbor Point. Bill was ahead of his time in imagining what Baltimore's unique waterfront could become. Listening to Dave Bramble speak about the future of the waterfront and his commitment to moving Harborplace forward as a place that will embrace waterfront recreation, I was reminded of how lucky I have been to work for such extraordinary leaders like Dave, Peter and Bill who understand that as James Rouse said, "Cities are Fun!" and embrace that fun in the way they move through the world. One of the things I have always appreciated about being a developer is that we are really just the set builders for the companies and tenants who will call our buildings home. At Bond Street Wharf, Brown Advisory was one of those companies. Mike Hankin, the President & CEO, has been working ever since to promote the clean-up of the harbor. Kudos to the Waterfront Partnership, under the amazing leadership of Laurie Schwartz, for the tremendous progress that has been made and all of the partners she has engaged in this effort. The event celebrated how fun our waterfront is and can be. As Dave Bramble, says "Baltimore is on the rise!" #MCB #HARBORPLACE
