Mattson EVP Product Development & Commercialization Jaime Reeves is the fit founder of IFT FIRST’s Fun Run (say that 3 times fast!). We’re proud of her in so many ways, and this year we sponsored the event, which brings food technologists from all around the world together for a healthy dose of exercise. We hope the runners enjoyed the trending Mattson-made freeze-dried candy snack as a reward. Congratulations to the Mattson team members who participated, and Jaime for her leadership to MAKE FUN HAPPEN! Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) #IFTfirst #IFTfunrun

Mattson CEO and Chief Food Technology Officer Justin Shimek discussed a meaty topic at IFT FIRST: How Can Novel Technologies and Innovations Be Created in an Environment of Consumer Mistrust, Anxiety, and Pseudoscience? Election results? Vaccines? Food safety? there’s so much mistrust these days that it’s hard to know what people DO trust. Technology can be an enabler, but it can also cause worry. Unnecessarily in some cases. We believe in the positive power of food science. We see a need to engage with consumers proactively to tell the story. #IFTfirst Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)

Mattson EVP, Product Development & Commercialization Jaime Reeves attended the MISTA & Naturally Bay Area event last week. The topics included tips and tricks to meet consumer desires, while also addressing tactical needs. Jaime’s advice for those scaling new products was to be practical by keeping trade-offs in mind. She said, “Make a list of Must-Haves, Like-to-Haves, and This-would-be-great.” Because those of us who do it, know that it’s the hardest thing anyone in the food industry does. Jaime’s team of Mattson Commercialization Managers are the best in the business. They are problem solvers in the moment, in the plant, where scale-up happens!
